Today i did my first little hunt. Wasnt really looking for anything in specific, more just seeing what was in my immediate area right now, although id assume for my region there will not be many active species besides P. Weilii for the rest of this year . I was ill prepared for this, it was more of a spur of the moment thing so forgive the bad camera work and displaying of the mushrooms. I also did not take any real notes on where i found them so the description is lacking but next time i will make sure to take some quick notes on my phone for each one. I only actually brought a few home but i also have some pics from out in the woods. Given the overall low quality of this first post i understand if the ID's can only be genus guesses.
All of these are from Georgia, north west of Atlanta. Found just off of walking paths through the woods, or in pine areas.

i think this is an amanita muscaria but not sure, dont have any interest in messing with that genus so i just left it.

these little guys were out in numbers and i feel i saw more in the areas with more hardwood than pine, but know i saw them all day

1) Mixed collection 2) http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Gymnopus_subpruinosus.html 3) Amanita persicina 4) Amanita vaginata 5) Gymnopilus sapineus 6) Lactarius 7) Chroogomphus 8) Russula 9) Cortinarius 10) Lactarius 11) maybe Rhodocollybia butyracea
Not all of the photos loaded for me because I am way up in the mountains of Oaxaca and there is some packet loss, so my numbering might be off.

Don't look deep woods for weilii/caerulescens, you are unlikely to have much luck. Instead, look at the very edge of the woods in areas that have been disturbed in the last 2-10 years

thanks for that tip. I was more or less just walking around today to get used to looking for mushrooms against all the leaves and what not with em dropping now. Most of em were found with 20 or so feet of a paved path through the woods but when i did venture deeper into the woods it was woods like this . are these the kind of pine patches i should be searching the edges of?
