I've never worked an office job, no. I can't say I ever worked anywhere where we weren't busting ass the whole time we were there.

Yeah, and it's ball-breaking.
Do they have salaried employees in Sweden? I wonder how this works for them.

the actual number is less than 75% but there are of studies that show that the majority of american office jobs have a productivity rate of about 60-70% on average if I remember right.
obviously that can't fly with some jobs (construction, bartending, servers, etc.) but for most office jobs that tended to be the case.
it's hard to stare at a computer screen for 8 hours a day and actually be productive the ENTIRE time cause it's just not stimulating.

Ill tell you a secret some of you might not know. most people that work in a corporate office job especially low on the totem pole are fuckingg dumb as rocks like really really really dumb. Most of them barely try to do anywork at all even tho they are basically as shitty as they can be at it. They all say they work harder than anyone and its the company or the bosses fault or the government especially when their jobs get outsource overseas or the company folds entirely. These are the people the banks give credit cards to and get hired really easily because they look good on the resume! These are the people who should make minimum wage but they think they deserve 6 figures plus benefits. Its a joke.

It saddens me that so many people don't take pride in their work.

You could apply as an economic refugee. You're from Georgia so it shouldn't be that hard.

Yeah I would have to agree, his logic back there was pretty atrocious and mostly based on assumptions.
The whole point of less hours is that many people will work harder for shorter periods.
Sure some people might not but they will probably be fired for not being productive, nothings changed there.
Think about how many families across the world are strained from parents who are out working all the time and come home too worn out for their kids.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

And think, they could hire more people, giving alot of people more good jobs. Instead of a 12 hour shift, itd be 2 employed people each doing 6'ers instead. I think it'd be alot easier to get the right amount of people to run a factory 18 hours a day if not the full 24. Giving WAY more jobs and easin' the load. Especially for these factory guys, who have a hard go doing it so long nearly everyday.
