Hey everybody , my mushroon doesnt look bad but there is a little blue spot on my cake





Should I toss it ? Thank you guys :smile:

Let it fruit for now keep an eye on it nd minimize touching to the area, if anything changes color quarantine or toss it

You're probably fine; just make sure it isn't growing.

Mycelium can turn blue from touching it, or other stress factors.

The picture is too small for me to give an accurate assessment.

It's pretty much common sense at this point though; it either grows or it doesn't.

Also, I think that cake's got mounds, too :o

And do you think that the cubensis in the second picture is healthy? It grow in a very weird way

It is. It looks dry, for one thing.

I can't tell if the abnormal fruits are from that and other environmental factors or genetics.

I won't rule out contamination, but nothing seems like it from what I can see in that pic.

Yea unless its rotten or mouldy you can eat it. Hell you could even eat mycelium if it wasnt for the 4 week old grains :p.

Then again I do remember a thread of a guy that makes tea from his spent cakes. Ugh xD. Although he made them with rice not flour. But still I wouldn't drink that thing

It likes when people smoke powered mushroom , like what the hec its for eating purpose

there is 5-6 normal shrooms on the cake and there is these both with a weird dark blue color

My other normal are brown

They are orissia india

Best to harvest ones like that ASAP.

They likely won't grow any further and will eventually die, either to get contaminated or reabsorbed by the mycelium.
