Liberty cap ID please!
    #22437225 - 10/26/15 07:01 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Just picked these today, and not sure if they are magical.

Found them at the base of tall grass in a field, white spore print (this threw me off)
Sticky like libs when wet, hollow stem, same size as libs, wavy stem that breaks in two, no blueing, smells exactly like shrooms. Nipple is there but not as pronounced as a lib. I live on vancouver island

What are these!!

In Mexico it is a different story - Mycena sounds like "mi cena", which means my dinner in Spanish.

At least one species contains some muscarine, so the toxicity is possible and edibility is unknown for most species.

I see those all the time here on Vancouver Island.  Probably the most popular I see.  Usually in grass, lawns, etc.  Not liberty caps.  Give-away is the shape and the striping on these.

Do not eat. Your organs will thank you, treat them well and they'll treat you well.

Hey! Ranman!
Are you on the island? If so would you be against me tagging along sometime?
