Temp/Humidity Help

Hey guys, first post on the forum. Anyway...about three years ago I tried my first mushroom grow in what we will call apartment A. I followed the PF teck to the T, and then built a SGFC. Once again, I followed the teck to the T, had a good fanning/misting schedule, and as a result had a great crop. At the time of this grow it was late summer, and the house was humid as ever. Feeling good about this I managed to pull it off a second time with equally great results. Things were going good until a bad situation started to develop between me and my roommate. When it came to my third grow I innoced some jars, got them going, but moved the SGFC to a friend's house (Apartment B). This is where things started to get bad. When I moved the terrarium to B my buddy was telling me that the humidity was not high enough in the SGFC. He reasoned that his apartment had hardwood floors that were pulling the moisture out of the SGFC. His place also was not as humid as mine was. I was still able to get a decent yield, and because I had a decent crop from before, I did not really pay much attention to it. I just figured he was not fanning or misting enough for me. (I should mention that my friend has also grown with great success at B, but used a different style terrarium.) Fast forward a few years, and now I am living in a new apartment (C). So I decided to try out my mush skills again. Followed all the steps, still had the same SGFC, and was able to colonize some PF cakes. However, my terrarium this time around would not hold ANY humidity. Needless to say zero crops this time. I know that humidity gauges are a crock, but mine was reading super low. Not to mention my cakes were bruised blue and lost a lot of weight just after being put in the SGFC for a few days. This tells me that my cakes were dry as hell. I tied to up the misting schedule too, but the RH would drop only after a few hours. Well now I am trying again (don't loose hope!), but would like to prevent this. I got some jars going, and can see some mycelium growth. Long story short, could my terrarium just not be feasible for those last two spaces(B and C)? Are there any ways to keep RH high in a SGFC other than perlite? Holes plugged; yes or no? Could I possibly need another style of fruiting chamber?

Make sure SGFC is built to spec (see signature), stop trying to measure humidity and keep your cakes glistening by misting, no need to fan.

Unfortunately, I tried all of that. The chamber is built to speck (all sides drilled, 1/4" holes 2" apart, clear tote, elevated off the ground) and gave me great results the first two times, but when moved out of A, no go. As for measuring the humidity, I don't really need to, the cakes color/weight change really says it all. As for misting, I can use an entire spray bottle a day, and it still gets dry as a desert in there.

Damn, that's odd. No fans in the room either? One idea would be get a humidifier and run it in the same room the fruiting chamber is in.

No prob, someone else's idea. if you have central air, close off the vent and using a plug in oil filled heater in the room in the winter may also help along with the humidifier to keep RH up.
