It might not be a bad idea. In an end of the world disaster scenerio (nuke war) broken bones, 3rd degree burns, and injuries would be common. Being able to treat your friends and family, set their bones, perform minor operations like removing schrapnel, or stitching them up could be life saving. And its better to have some pain killers if thats the case. Hospitals and pharmacies stock these things because they need them. If you can no longer rely on those outside services, it would be a good "prep" to have a supply yourself.

You know the anxiety -> buy product "ritual" sounds a bit OCD like.

You ever been tested?

If I know it's going to happen and I have time to prepare, I'll make it simple.

I would gather my family together around my big fluffy bed, covered in my grandmother's quilts. We'll say a prayer together and thank the Good Lord for this wonderful life he has given me.

I'll smoke a nice bowl of some Skunk#1/Norther Lights out of one of my father's pipes.

I'll take some hydrocodone. Lots of it.

I'll have an ice cold Coca-Cola from a can, with full pack of Sonoma Red 100's. Or, hell, since I'm dying, I might even spring for some Nat Shermans. But I'll still want my Sonoma's as well.

I'll turn on some old-time mountain songs. The Circle Will Be Unbroken, and Oh Death, respectively.

Then I'll meet my maker.

Exactly right.

These kind of medications will be worth a hundred times their weight in gold when shit
Hits the fan. If my wife is injured and in pain I want to be able to ease her pain.
If she is feeling terror I want to be able to help her find peace.

My desire to protect and provide for  my wife and shelter her from what may come is the entire reason I prep the way I do.

And to who asked -
Yes I do have OCD. Never been tested but I for sure do.

A friend of mine died last month - lung cancer.  Made me very aware of my own mortality - he was younger than me.

Maybe some mod or whatever might think this has now been long enough.
