If you have the funds then AA (All American) can't be beat. If not get a presto or mirro.

So you can sterilize more at once its better to sterilze a dozen quarts in one run than one at a time for a dozen runs.

The AA is a tank, but if it is out of your budget a lot of people use presto and mirro and they work great. Some of the smaller cheap PC's only do 10 psi, so I would check out the stats before buying

Depends on your budget/needs. The 921 is a popular size, holds the same as the 925, 10 quart jars. they make a few sizes larger. and also smaller sizes. shop around a bit before you buy, sometimes you can find a good deal.

What are your plans? If your going to go at this full time then I would buy an AA. If your going to do 2 to 3 small PF tek grows a year I'd go with a cheaper PC. I originally went with a 8 qt cheapo PC from Wally world. It would only fit 8 1/2 pints in it, so it was a PITA if I wanted to inoculate more than 8 (re sterilize my SAB area). I used it for a bit and when I decided I was down for the long haul I shelled out the cash for an AA 925.

Mirro 22qt has treated me well. Was only $65 off amazon. Holds 10qts if you use one pp5 container, or 15 plastic pints if you find the right ones (dollarstore betty crocker.)
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

I believe the 941 is the big daddy.

IMO wouldn't use any bigger than a 930 on an electric stove, the larger sizes get pretty heavy when loaded and may damage the burner, plus if you have a hood or a microwave built in above the stove may not have the clearance. Larger sizes work well on gas burner stoves or the outdoor portable gas burners.Quote:

The aa 921 is the most popular size. You can fit 1/2 gallon and 1 gallon jars in it. You can double stack quart jars also. It's worth the extra money over the. 915. I use my 921 on my glass cook top all the time.

The "double stacking" means this, 7 Qts in the bottom layer with 3 on the top, sideways for a total of 10. The 915 holds just the 7 , but it's turnover time is faster than the 921. If you shoot for the 7 Qts, the 915 can't be beat. I can fit 19 qts in my 941 but I hardly ever use it. I can't fit it on the stove top because of clearance issues, so I just use my 1915x and 1925x Sterilizers for a total of 17 Qts. I would recommend the 1925x for the best all around "PC". It is the bomb (no pun) for bags as well and agar as well.

OP like another poster said buy what you can afford and have room for. I had a 23 qt presto but it took up too much space so I downsized to a 16 qt and it still does 7 qts at a time.

I don't recall ever hearing anything about a budget. That would be a help to know what it is, if there is one. I notice that he's from NZ. Shipping is going to kill him on price regardless. After owning a few Sterilizers, I find that the versatility of them over PC's outweigh the added costs, but then again, I got mine used on craigslist and was able to pick it up in person. YMMV.
