"Moby Dick" Strain and spore prints.

For my first grow (still in process) I bought a "Moby Dick" sporeprint (golden teacher / albino hybrid of some sort) all was going alright untill I realized the mushroom had (a) no veil (doesn't seem to drop spores either); (b) super small caps. I wanted to take sporeprint and with that two conditions odds are against me.
They're pf tek, grown in vitro with chronic tek.
I want to know if someone has experience with this "strain" or is that the fruiting conditions are causing this.
If pictures are needed I may add some.
Thanks.

upload some pics it sounds interesting but the strain is probably just unethical vendor hype either way ive never seen them with no veil maybe you'll have to swab it like PE

Sterilized swab and just rub under the gills just like PE. Way easier than prints, but you need to clean it up on some agar.

Moby Dick should be a AA+/PE hybrid imo.
In fact, if I cross these two strains I'm going to call it that and give away prints! Or swabs probably...

It's not that they don't produce spores, it's simply some cubes don't make strong prints and need to be swabbed due to the different variances in cap/gills and how they drop.

i got ya. i was confused by the OP saying their was no veil. that to me seems odd. thats a cool idea i think we all have experienced caps that dont print well, so you swab it with what? a sterile cue tip? then go to agar?

I just googled the moby dick cube and this is probably one of those 50-70$ scam prints listen to this description..lol
"This product is taken out of our assortment. It will not be available to purchase in the future.
Psilocybe Cubensis Moby Dick is the outcome of merging the genetics of two extraordinary magic mushroom varieties. Nowadays science can really work wonders and some patient true mycologist took the time to cross Albino A+ and Golden Teacher. The result is a mushroom strain with a significant lack of pigments in the caps. The caps have the very pale blue color of a, err, zombie face or water-corpse and tend to tear far before the fruit-body has reached its full maturity. The stem is meaty and ivory in color wherein the basis is covered in white fuzz."
to me the statement that "it will not be available in the future" and " some patient true mycologist took the time to cross Albino A+ and Golden Teacher" contradict the shit outta each other revealing their true motive in all this the pics did look cool tho OP so post some of your grow for comparison

Not to mention the terrible spelling, grammar, and implication of the seller's ignorance of FAE

note: Some mushrooms have been cut off

I know this is is probably bullshit "hybrid" strain stuff. But the lack of pigmentation on the caps and veil broken way before maturity has happend to me.

The Moby Dick variety is widely available here in NL in the form of mycelium kits. Quick search and I found like 20 websites offering them (some are out of stock atm. but most aren't). Price about 40,- for a 1200ml mycelium kit
