Psilocybe Serbica - 2012-2016 Europe * 6
    #22431192 - 10/25/15 10:10 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hi everyone. I only just have learned that I can upload pictures to my account so I wanted to share what my girlfriend has found while we where hunting for Armillaria's in the middle of Nov. 2012. It is in the small forest located within the metropolitan area of one of the cities in Eastern Europe. When we had found them for the first time the harvest was so huge we ended up with 100g of dry mass. In 2013 there where much less of them but also fruits where out as early as the end of Sep. and then there was not so much rain. Last year was so dry here that we found just few but this year they have started to show up the weather is perfect and this is the year when I want to extend their habitat. Started with stem-butt transfers from those little one that where dug out already by wild boars. In a week time I should start printing.

This is how the story goes.

2012:

2013:

Drying out:

24/10/2015:

Family Guys:

2016:

They have started to show up. Pictures from last Saturday. Should be ok to print in 2 weeks time.

Also I want to point out that there is one more documented occurrence of this species as far north as the Baltic Sea coast (city of Sopot in northern Poland).

Nice collection, possibly a mixed collection or one of either Psilocybe serbica var. bohemica and P. serbica var. moravica

I'm not sure what they are. I'm thinking about sending spore print to Mr Jan Borovicka who is an expert on this taxon in Europe.

Below are pictures from a week later.

Nice find! I hope you find more (and take more photos)

Send a few mushrooms to Jan, he is collecting mushrooms for a big potency study right now.

Thanks mate, but it's nothing compering to your cyans

The weather this year is almost the same as it was in 2012 when we had found them for the first time (according to weather history data from weatheronline.com). We had last three days of heavy rain, so I'm hoping to have one more flush this year. If so, I will have few prints to share. Will see.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks brotha. With such a limited number of Psilocybes being found in the UK, I'm always excited when an interesting species comes up on the forum's.

Good vibes friend :mushroom2: Cool find.

Hi all

Little update on the ID. I've got in touch with Jan Borovička and after few emails I have sent him spores, dry specimens to be placed in the herbarium somewhere in Prague as well as bag of dry caps and steams for alkaloids content analysis and CD with all the pictures  that I have gathered in last four years. His initial short replay is that those are P. serbica var. moravica.

Because I don't have access to trading forum I have to put my offer here. I have few more spore prints to trade. The thing is that I'm only interested in three species.

Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata, Psilocybe subaeruginosa and Psilocybe allenii as I'm only interested in growing outdoor and have got Azures and Cyans prints already.

If any one interested please PM me.

Cool stuff. I do have a Ovoid print and its very tempting but someone was nice enough to gift me the print and i wouldn't feel right trading it off. I'm sure you will get plenty of offers. Awesome finds. Awesome attitude. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks to all of you that traded prints with me. Being quite new here and still trusted as much, that some people shipped to me same time as I did to them. Amazing community.

Few more from the latest hunt.

And finally can share this:

Syringe made from this year prints. No still box no GB no FH ( yet  ).

Had them in new years eve with my gf and she said that they are like the "MASSAGE FOR THE SOUL" .

I was a noob noob and accidentally stumbled upon those. I didn't get the spore prints, but maybe I will search for that place in the right time of the year and do something about it.

Shrooms are amazing. Not only this but all of them. They look the same yet different  if you know what i mean. There is this thread about collection from Italy. They grow on conifers over there and look different from mine and yours. And please do something as you said, this year. Spread and share.

Peace
