G2G from a fully colonized block?
    #22430944 - 10/25/15 08:45 AM (8 years, 3 months ago)

so, i have entered into a project that was begun, and then later abandoned by another, and now i would attempt, if i can, to salvage what i can of it and make it sustainable.

heres the deal:

i have a block of fully colonized lions mane spawn. they used several others in mulch beds and got nothing to show for it. this is what i have left over.

in another project, they had many blocks of fully col shiitake spawn, which were successfully plugged into some logs. i have three untouched, fully col leftover blocks from that project too. though some of them have attempted to fruit in the fridge...

can i do anything with these, aside from simply fruiting them? id like to attempt a grain to grain transfer if you guys think itll work, but i am out of my realm of experience at this point. anyone ever tried this? if need be i can post some pics

your best bet would be to take a small piece of myc and put it on agar then transfer till you see good clean growth. i'm honestly not sure how well even this will work as I only have xp with oysters but agar is the only way to be sure what your transferring is clean
