No that happens a l lot with me with coir Last flush of the same strain Menace...  And here its first flush of pins also looks uncolonized

Imma go out on a limb here and say it has less to do with the coir and more to do with genetics, environment, and clean spawn

or moisture content. bulk subs that are far too wet don't fully colonize. or far too dry for that matter. things need to be "just right".

Sometimes it happens man. Work with a clone or isolate, if you keep the environmental stuff in check it should be pretty consistent

Have you tested the clone before? You never know till you test!

Exactly. Proper field capacity is a very important step, and one that is often overlooked. I wish there were more detailed teks demonstrating the process. Sometimes it's hard to know exactly how much water to squeeze out.
I usually squeeze the mix till only a few drops pool up around my knuckles, as shown in one of RR's videos, but my tubs always end up on the dry side and I see a lot of colonization issues. I guess it just takes a bit of trial and error...
