identification help
    #22427902 - 10/24/15 03:49 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Could somebody help me identifying these mushrooms please?
Stems about 2 inches long and hat about inch.
Grow on woodchips now in autumn, in Holland.
Help would appreciated.

Those are some sort of psilocybe. Wait until they are mature and pick them.

Nice. These are either Psilocybe cyanescens or Psilocybe azurescens. A TI should be able to tell you which. Probably azures.

Judging by the second picture, I'd say they already did.

Yea I didn't see the second pic on my phone. Those look like azures. They are hallucinogenic. If you let them completely mature and then pick them, you will get more.

Nice find

About two years ago i  mixed azurenscens spawn with woodchips and made a patch in my garden. This is my first flush ever. I did not want to influence  your opinion with this information. I was afraid the woodchips were colonised with an other mushroomspecies.

I thought cyanescens because of the wavy cap.  Also, I thought cyans were much more likely as azures don't grow in Europe naturally.  Didn't realise it was a cultivated plot, haha.

Let any of them that you might not have picked mature. They can get a lot bigger

--------------------
Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

I'm used to Cubes; pick them just before the veil opens. I thought this was the way to go for Azuresecens as well. I'm waiting for the second flush and hoping for some freetime to consume some of them.

I think they are just young cyans. Like Williamsii said, cyanescens is widespread in parts of Europe, whereas azurescens is almost unheard of in Europe.
