Same strain, but these 2 100% jars look...different.
    #22425793 - 10/24/15 04:13 AM (8 years, 3 months ago)

I was about to mix these 2 into bulk sub, but one looks nice and fluffy, while the other looks...weak? What's your take? The right one is the jar I'm concerned about. I would hate to waste these 2 jars by mixing them together when one may have bacteria... That's my only guess, since there's no obvious signs of contams.

Damn, here's 1 more I just found that's been at these "almost" stage for 4 days now... It's like it's colonized, but not flush...

I think your millet may not be sufficiently hydrated.  Oddly enough, it seems to me that the milo hydrates faster than the millet, and some burst milo is necessary to get the millet where it needs to be (at least with Fooman's prep.)

Might try that 12 hour soak cron suggeted.

That first jar looks kinda fucked though.  Even if it's not contaminated, it isn't properly colonized and I think there's a good chance bad things will happen if you remove it from a sterile environment.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister.  I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave.  I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent.
Triggered yet?

No, this does not look right...

The one on the right looks crappy next to the other one... by itself I bet it looks alright lol... that last jar looks fine also...shake that motherfucker and see how it recovers.

dry grains will have lighter growth, so it could be that.
maybe the one on the right just isn't done thickening up yet?  did u recently shake it?

this is cube and mold (not yet sporulating) in same jar

this is healthy cube recovered from final shake

Looking at that second jar, it seems like the mycellium is avoiding the millet, even colonized sun flour seeds first.

Yes, I shook on the 14th, so 10 days ago.

The last jar in the pics, I shook it 4 days ago and it looked identical as it does right now. Which is almost 100%. So weird.

it does look weak I defiantly wouldn't spawn it to a mono if anything make a small bulk tray or case it in the jar and use a sandwitch baggie as a FC  this was from "suspect" grain cased with leftover cvg

:whathesaid: every time my myc does that when I give it a whiff, its nasty AF. I'd put $10 down on that jar being bacterial.
