are there some people that are not so hell bent on survival. just because everything alive is striving to keep doing so, doesnt nessicarily mean its the way to go... shit like this is whirling around in my mind.

It's all about the experience.. and overcoming troubles and obstacles in life.. that leads to our wisdom and evolution. We learn from our struggles.

Yep. To live is to suffer, theres no other way around it, and once you accept it, and not resist it, youll feel alot better.

I don't know.
guess we'll find out when we die.
but until then, don't fight it.
For what it's worth, I would like to think it means something. I mean there has to be SOME reason we're here.
it's ok. :0)

ok, you might be right there....maybe "meaning" wasnt the proper word i was looking for....maybe my statement could be better written as...
true, but whos to say that the reason has any significance?
my basic point being, we really dont know whats on the other side of this existance. could be heaven/hell, reincarnation, some alternate spiritual world, yadda yadda yadda.....or it could be that our body just rots away, in which case would our life really be worth living? would anything we did have any true significance? i mean the idea of an afterlife where we live eternally in bliss sounds nice and all, but a part of me has to think about the posibility that it is all bullshit. that the only reasons we have to believe that there is anything else were created by us as a race to help cope with the fact that in reality we dont really know, and that we could actually be all alone and living pointless lives.

I totally understand what you are saying. But let me give you another perspective to think about. The way you described life in that post is completely focusing on selfishness. Perhaps look at it in another light.. As a nonselfish existance.
We all seem to be so worried about what there is out there for US.. Maybe the meaning of life could be to help those who we leave behind.. or teach what we know so they can progress on our thoughts and ideas. Maybe our whole existance is to complete our step in evolution that we've been handed so that the next one can pick up where we left off. *shrugs* Just a thought.

I agree... I think the only perceivable meaning to a human life is the impact it has on others.

"is life trully worth living?" YES! Come on! Please don't forget the POSITIVES, the HAPPIES, the WONDERFULS, the BEAUTIFULS, the FUNS, the FUNNIES, the REWARDS.... Believe me it will all balance out - ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT!

it all depends on the day. some days i wake up feeling like i can get through the obstacles but other days i wish i had never woken up. and i dont think there is anything waiting for us when we die. my theory is when we die, its like those nights when you awake the next morning not remembering what you dreamt. all you remember is going to bed the previous night. its like the lights suddenly went off. but you wouldnt even know the lights went off because you would never wake up.

I thought for ages wtf is the point in existing? Theres shit points in everyones lives, some last years some last days. Think about it, if theres nothingness after you die, doesnt that just make dying far worse?
I have realised I enjoy nothing more than making people happy, life is worth living you just need to open your eyes and discover why.

I have contact with spirits on an allmost daily basis (which IS possible and I'm NOT insane) through a method which is called automatic writing, I talk with my spirit guide/angel (whatever you wanna call it, its basically a dude or dudette who is willing to help you with any problems you have in life. I sometimes talk with him about life and death and all of that and well basically life doesnt really have a purpose seeing as when you'll die you'll still exist in a form of energy and nothing really evolves from there on, but suicide is just shortening your physical experience. Most spirits who've commited suicide regret it and wish they'd have some more time alive, but appearantly its pretty cool to be a spirit, it seems like there's allways something for them to do (they can trip and get high... he he) but why shorten your physical life when its just another experience which is nice to have outlived. I do a bit of philosophizing and my conclusion is allways: nothing really matters except for having fun.... NO-THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
