yes it can, once rehydrated them fruit body will revert back to mycelium, much easier ways to do it that produce better but this is good to help old mother nature i guess

It.. does not have a root like a plant. Don't ever use a plant analogy again if you want to understand mycology.

The fruit body is just organized mycelium, the stem of the mushroom is mycelium running tightly parallel with eachother and the cap is tightly interwoven giving it the color and once picked and put in a substrate it reverts back to vegetative myc and starts eating again

-You're not in a position to tell me what mushrooms do -You can pull mushrooms, some of them are better to pull, especially if your stumps contaminate when you cut them. -it does not root, I'd have seen it by now.
Why are you arguing with people who've been growing mushrooms for years? Do you go to NASA and debate with astrophysicists?

Considering this, if we were to say the mushrooms had roots, or that they rooted, then we would also have to say that the mushrooms ARE roots. There is no part of the organism that isn't mycelium except the spores, which then become mycelium. The mushroom is like the mycelium growing a dick and jizzing all over the place. The mycelium is not a part of the mushroom, the mushroom is just a part of the mycelium, and is the mycelium.
I said drop the plant analogies because they won't help you understand any of this. They're not good and they're not accurate. They breathe oxygen and exhale CO2. They don't have roots, they don't like plant food, direct sunlight isn't good for them, and they don't respond to pruning. Likewise you can't just stick the roots of a plant in some different dirt and expect them to form a new plant. (Maybe potatoes )
"Like a plant" is a plant analogy, in case you didn't get that when you said "Don't b a dickhead I said like a plant"

Also, I was a dick before I found mushrooms, they never had a shot at turning that around.

I always see people shocked that a bunch of folks sitting around pounds of psychedelics can be so cranky. They think it's so spiritual and mind-opening that surely we could never be irritated with anything ever again.
On the contrary, being more aware rarely means I'm less irritable. Just means I know exactly what I'm irritated with and why. Stay here on the front lines for a few years and you'll see what I mean.

You don't have to explain it to me. Sometimes I feel like I'm reading my own thoughts before I have the opportunity to post them when I'm reading your responses. However most of the time, I'm genuinely surprised by how violently people respond to your curt advice.
I need some entertainment these days. Thanks!

Mushrooms are more like animals than plants. Those roots are actually telephone wires.
