It has a nice clear center. I know the glad containers don't really have a clear view.

I actually found something similar at the dollar store.

I tested 1 with food coloring at 15 psi for 20 min. Didn't boil over or anything. Then I proceeded to pour my agar in it and I did a 15 psi 45 min. Came out perfectly fine.

Hmm gotcha ok. I'll look into the 1/4 jars. I just liked the convenience of looking through the top. I think the price for the jars and this might be the same locally. I'll double check.

How long does it take for it to solidify?

Nice find on the containers! I started using sterile urinalysis(U.A) cups, I get tons for free. They come sterile, clear and FREE yippeee
Shouldnt take too long to solidify though, I pour once my pressure cooker cools down. My agar sometimes becomes solid once I get done cleaning up from pouring and storing the finished product. I try to pour before bed to allow enough time for it to cool and solidify overnight.

Did you put like half an inch of agar in those containers? You only need a thin layer.
Also, nice find, I pay $1 for 5 containers that look shittier than that at dollartree.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

You have entirely too much agar in those cups. It isn't necessary.
I never considered using sterile urine collections cups. I get those for free from work too.... They are clear and pretty easy to see through. Interesting. I have plenty petri dishes left and have access to more, but they aren't free.

It's water with dye. I used it to see / gauge if it would melt or disform. If any water spilled into the pressure cooker the dye would help.

I havent tried them in the pressure cooker as yet. I guess I should experiment huh! They arnt very thin so they might survive if u pc them. I was using jars on hand and figured hey its a hobby, try something new!
Just checked on my transfers to the U.A cups and they have taken off quite nicely in a matter of one day. Yaay

You missed your opportunity to call them baby cakes. I am disappointed.
I would just pour into sterile urine collection cups. I don't think I would PC them but I'm pretty sure they would hold up. Super thick plastic. At least mine are.
