Tips to avoid wigging out?

Any suggestions on how to avoid wigging out? Last experience with mushies was about 5 years ago, and we didn't have enough to go around. I was probably a level 1. Time before that I went too hard.
Now that I have a reliable supply, should I aim for level 2 trip and build up? I was thinking 2 grams dried for a first trip? I'm 180 lbs.

Go for 3 grams.

Go for 3,5 grams, and when the fear comes, accept that it is a part of the experience, and it it will pass soon, then let go.
Alternatively, put on different music, start dancing, go to another room or outside... change the setting. You'll be fine, low doses are pretty dreadful anyway.

Thanks HT. I see you're from Canada too. I'm out on the west coast. Looks like marijuana laws are about to change with Trudeau getting in, eh. Will see if it actually happens, but it's about bloody time.
As for the 3 grams... Maybe I'll try 2.5 grams and can up it next go round. Thanks for the input.

Man you even typed out the eh, I usually have to add it in my head for all the Canadians. I have to disagree with the rest of the responses in this thread though. As fun as eating 3.5g is if your already afraid you most likely will not have a good time. I would start with 2.5g like you said, that will give you some alright visuals and give you a chance to really dip your feet and get comfortable. The best way to not wig out is to not think about it. If you keep thinking about tripping bad or worrying something is wrong with your body your mind will make it so. Just remember you picked a safe substance to dabble in, you'll be alright.

Stay tooned. Dig the scene. Ya' know what I mean? Groovy baby.
I like good food and drinks. To dance and sing. Play around. Smiles and frowns. I like much of everything.
What is this "wigging out"?

I have a hard time with the anxiety sometimes.
I usually spend a little bit of time meditating before I ingest them, thinking about anything that's been on my mind lately.
Then I take them and meditate on what I hope to get out of the trip, how to overcome any negative thoughts.
Then I go for walk until I start to feel them come on.
Usually starts my mind off right.
Also I'm very cautious with what I eat the day of

Solid advice.
I'd also like to say that taking a lower dose doesn't mean the trip will be any easier. Low doses usually cause really bumpy rides for me, while larger doses make it easier to surrender to the experience, know what I'm saying?

Yep, and if you want take some paper and write anything that goes through your head on the comeup. If something that you write is bad : write a solution on the paper. Most of the things can be fixed. And write things that make you happy, why your day was awesome etc..

Real anxiety (as opposed to just mild normal trip onset anxiety) can really be a bitch. There are plenty of folks on here that have tried various anti-anxiety techniques.
Might want to try: -Vitamin B3 / Niacinamide -Kava -Theanine -Lemon balm

Yes you should aim for a level 2 and if you follow these other's advice then you're going to shoot right past that. Remember that the worst part is the "comeup" or first couple hours and after it levels out, the anxiety subsides.

Benzos can be used to stop a trip, which is useful if you have a bad one. And just having them around may prevent or help you change a bad trip, because knowing you can stop a bad trip may help calm your anxieties and fears.

Have benzos with you and just know that you can make it at whenever you want to.
Unless you are so far out that you can't even reach into your own pocket and eat a pill..

Xanax also helps when a bad time is inevitable.
Also, I realize that if I'm having bad thoughts about something I promise myself, and say outloud, that I will spend time thinking through the problem and attempting to solve it.

Yes there are scary things but the likelihood of real damage from mushrooms is low.
As I put it to some non-mushroomers one can eat their own body weight in mushrooms and not overdose. I think it's for a reason like weed it's extremely harmless.
Sometimes I think everything I've experienced so far has brought me to the now, so I'm fairly well prepared.

Purposley try to wig out, is what I would do. Idk if I would suggest it
-------------------- its that bitter-sweet-sour, electric-smooth-twang. everything you ever have, are. or will feel along with every emotion, joy, hate, love, fear or aspiration burning down your nerves and into the fabric of your place in this existence at ten thousand degrees above and below zero will you find yourself wondering if you've been dead or alive this whole time. being born over and over only to die over and over hoping the wheel stops in the same place it started when you spun it, and when it finally does and you can step back and take a nice deep breath you realize how beautiful life is, remember, wake up to the most beautiful day of your life every single day, its just the way.

Accept and let go. If you think there's cops outside, just accept it and let it go. If you think your going to die, accept and let go. That's something I've found very helpful when tripping hard and also something I've used and integrated into daily life. Peace

For me, if I'm able too and alone. I just lay down and play music. I know everything that happens when I'm tripping isn't real. I also try to isolate my environment and make sure I'm only tripping at night. That way, less chance of emergency and what not from other people. I mostly try to trip alone so it's easy.
I also take melatonin and smoke as necessary. But I take 5mg of melatonin during peak right when it becomes intense. I prefer to be more relaxed.
