To your question. Yes, you can remove just the SD card. Turn the camera off, remove card, put the card into a laptop, delete pics you're worried about and then replace the card and leave the camera off. Owner will think they forgot to turn it on! It happens a lot..

FYI I usually run least a couple cams in an area :ooo:

We use trail cams and you should know that some of them use a cellular connection to instantly send pics back to the end user.  These are more expensive but are highly desirable.  Meaning if they see you fucking with it they may come out pist off.

Yeah, don't fuck with the trail cam....Do people bow hunt for deer around your place?...Sometimes there are bowhunters in areas you would think they wouldn't be. The only people I know that use trail cams are hunters...they try to figure what patterns the deer are using...also tells them if there is a trophy in the area...the pics. are dated with time of day.

This doesn't matter with bow hunting...unless it's in City limits. They aren't required to be 150 yds. from occupied dwellings like firearms hunters are. Do you know who owns the land?

Word. I could care less about what they think I'm doing back there. I'm turning 35 in a few months so don't really care about my folks "groudning" me for smoking. It's public land so I'm not sure why it's the ere. Definitely tons of deer in the area and it's a nice trail cam. Just unsettling knowing that someone will be creeping on me when I'm simply trying to kick it in the woods. This is not the type of neighborhood where yo u see someone looking like me on your trail cam and don't call the cops. I don't do anything illegal but hate most pigs  hence my concern.

maybe they have a grow nearby and have the cams so they know if people go near it

Just put a sticker over the camera lense every time you go out and be a creep in the woods.

You know your picture is already on hundreds if not thousands of random computers around the world. All from security cameras at all the places you go to already. This camera sucks but it's already got your pic, nothing you can do without prolly breaking some law. So just cover it up from now on.

Or just don't have random homosexual rendezvous in the empty lot behind your parent's house.

I think on the public land or  WMA's in my area you aren't supposed to leave anything like hat overnight. If it's public hunting land then check the regs.  If they are prohibited you could just make it "disappear" or just take the SD card and delete the images and then return it as one commenter said.

In this day and age I don't see how thats a problem.

The camera is on PUBLIC land, pretty sure THAT is illegal…..if its there tomorrow and I guarantee it will be considering that it was bolted to the tree……….

Just checked my local laws, its illegal to hunting in this city on public land. Someone either really loves looking at deer or are getting jollys by creeping on people

What is illegal about taking photos on public land?
The cities I have known with bylaws in such conditions made it illegal to publish photos without consent, not take them.

So people frequently travel through that area of the woods?

Could be monitoring for someone causing trouble.

Fuck it. Unless the camera is marked for some nature thing I would go out late with my face covered and destroy the damn thing. Everywhere I used to hike where I grew up and my mom still lives is covered with million dollar homes.

To just go and smoke a joint was a major pain in the ass. No trail cams though. Privacy is a wonderful thing and if you can not find it in nature I will fight that.

ok heres what I think.

I bet the land owners probably found used needles or something of that nature in that area and decided to put a camera up to catch who it is, which would also explain why op is so paranoid.

I mean come on people....op is saying he decided to walk the trails by that dudes place.....We all know it has nothing to do with smoking cigs and walking around in "slop" clothes.

I bet the camera in question uploads photos instantly.  I'd clean house if I were you op or quit doing what ever bull shit your doing back there but not for one second do I believe you, considering your wanting to steal a memory chip over clothes and a cig.

Grab the photos of you from sd card and photoshop bigfoot or aliens instead of you then take sd card back.
