Shaggy manes!

Yesterday I found and consumed my first shaggy mane! They're common in the PNW where I live and they're delicious sautéed in a dab of butter with a little garlic and put on bruschetta garnished with parsley! It's a shame they're so perishable. I'll post some pics of the shaggy mane patch in my yard later for you guys to salivate to.
Any other shaggy mane lovers out there?

Man, idk how well they dry. .
I had a few fried up earlier. Olive oil, butter, garlic pouder, salt and pepper
They're pretty light and delicious.
Also put some in a stew a few weeks ago. I added a ton of veggies and u could bairly taste em but they add such a hearty, healthy base. That was all fresh and garden ingredients. It was awesome.

They dry just fine, you only have to be quick about it.

Just found some shaggy mane in my friends front yard a few days ago. He had sent me pictures of a totally different mushroom in his yard and i happened to go over there the next day. Right in the front next to the sidewalk and im like "Dude, these are more important than that shit over there lmao."

Nice loco! Educate man.
Rebel, do you use a dehydrator? I'm working with sun tek over here
This is only my 2nd season.. had more than a few shaggys last year and enjoyed, as i enjoy most wild foods. I'd love to have mush through the winter, even if i'm waiting for a cold and cloudy day. You folks in PNW know how tough it is w/o the sun for a while

No, fire going room around 75-78, too hot will ruin the color, and a fan for air movement. I don't even slice em just lay them out on a good absorbent surface like cardboard, wood, or even stone and move them every now and again so they don't stick to the surface.

Just make sure the lawns you're picking these out of have not been treated with any chems like truegreen or whatever it's called.
I see tons of shaggy manes growing out of treated lawns, shits a damn shame.

Shaggies are so common in lawns I always see them on treated lawns and it is indeed a shame. Since my patch isn't producing any more for the time being, I decided to journey into a local nature park to look for mushies. Didn't find any shaggy mane but found a few patches of yellowfoot chanterelles! Delicious.

It is truely a shame. Add in all the wild edable/medicinal plants and that's some weight. And we pay to have it that way...Go permaculture
I forgot i had taken a pic of a bit of the first nice flush
