I just came across these in a friends back yard near his tool shed. It was growing out of a mixture of clay & bark. I'm not sure if these are anything of worth or interest, but I'm not taking any chances. In the past years, he has found a few different weilli patches on his light & densly wooded back yard on 6 acres with a lake. Anyone know what these little things are? It's extremely dark & my flashlight & camera on phone is really all I have...and a measuring tape. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Habitat: Clay & bark
Where does it grow? North Georgia
Gills: White (look like small hairs or webbing)
Stem: 1" long, & 1/16" diameter, white/brown, smooth texture, solid & thin
Cap: 1/2" diameter, Burnt orange/red, smooth texture, spherical, convex
Spore print color: I don't have the proper materials at the moment
Bruising: Reddish Brown
Other information: Feels like a small popcorn kernel with only what I can describe as an earthy, dank smell

They are so much smaller than the ones shown to compare them with. Other than that, they sound pretty much the same. I figured they were probably nothing
