Cactus ID and advice.
    #22414483 - 10/21/15 04:44 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hi EthnoBots, I have a large pile of cactus at work which i believe to be Trichocereus sp. But im not a cactus expert and would love a experienced opinion.

Me and my wife are keen to grow some at home so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ie: is potting mix an ok growing medium, should I use root hormone or is this unnecessary? Any other hints and tips would be amazing.

Thanks brk

Holy fucking shit, somebody done massacred that San Pedro. Definitely plant some of those. Just use any good soil that drains well.

Thanks man, yeah it was a removal and I got the guys to tip it at the yard so I could grab some. I was just fucking around in here and found most of the info I needed, but I would still love an ID of species.

Take them all and do an extraction, like the video with the guy that hooked up a garbage disposal to grind up massive amounts of cactus.

The species is Trichocereus pachanoi, common name being San Pedro.
