Can anyone tell me what this mushy is??
    #22414319 - 10/21/15 04:02 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hello, this is my first post on here so I hope iv got all the info correct
Habitat:
I'm on the Galapagos (Ecuador) and found this mushroom growing off old dead wood, not to sure of the kind of wood

Gills:
Fine purply greyish gills.

Stem:
Very slender, between 1 and 3 centimetres long. Almost translucent.

Cap:
ridged cap between 5 and 10 mills in diameter. Very delicate

Spore print color:
The caps just disintegrated over night but left a dark purply brown residue. Not to sure if this was spores or not

Bruising:
Hard to tell as they are so delicate and just crush I would say sort of purpleish

Coprinellus species. Probably Coprinellus disseminatus.

I actually find my elongated thumb nail to be rather useful.

I used to do something similar, then I found a pair of scissors another hunter left behind.

In some cultures to having long finger nails is a sign of high status, you can't be working hard in the field with long nails, but you sure can point and tell people what to do with em.
