Reishi!?!?
    #22413897 - 10/21/15 02:12 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

A found this in central Va in a thick wooded area that backs up to the highway, so I doubt many people have been venturing back there. The tree is a pine tree, I assume a Virginia Pine. Not sure about that though. I have no experience with this species at all, so I may be way off here, but I am very curious. Thanks.

Better pictures. Not sure what kind of tree it is afterall. I believe the tree is dead possibly due to the mushrooms sucking the life out of it.

Anybody familiar with this species. Appears to be Ganoderma curtisii to me, but again this is new to me. Also, it looks like it may be rotten. I dont know. Anybody?

Yes those are Ganoderma. Given that it is stipate and is growing from pine, G. meredithae would be be my suggestion.
It's very doubtful it is G. tsugae because as the name implies it prefers hemlock. Ganoderma curtisii is very similar but lives on oak and hardwoods.

Can anyone give me advice on what to do with this? How to properly get the best out of it?  Id like to see if it could help with anxiety and/or provide energy by using it regularly. Cultivate it maybe. Idk. I'd appreciate input from anyone who has any experience with this.

Cool looking ganodermas. You should clone it, then do a double extraction with it.

Thanks. I'm afraid they be too old. Maybe from last year. I can still clone it right?

Judging by the pores those are too old, probably have maggots inside as well. Not sure about cloning, I've only ever cloned ganja.
