The Future of Space Travel - Human Conquest to Colonize the Milky Way and the Universe as We Know It

I predict that in the next 100 years, as the world becomes more intelligent and funnels less cash into silly things like war efforts and cattle production, there will be a great global interest and necessity for expanding the human race into the rest of space. In 2012, President Obama made plans with NASA to terraform Mars, which basically means to shape its climate and livability to suit our tastes and requirements.
The sad part, is that this could have happened ages ago if it weren't for the war. And countless other things.
The big question is, what happens after that?

Yeah...hate to burst your bubble, but obama cut back NASA funding. You can't terrafarm mars if you can't leave the planet.

Youre confused. That was the Chinese with their ladder to heaven, and it was south park. Not real life

Mars ran its course long ago, they fucken blew themselves up with their extremely high tech weapons. To colonize mars is to completely go against nature, to go back in time, to repeat history, to build a nation in a dead zone.

Who knows, we could transform the red planet to a ruby of paradise. And no, the Japanese are literally building a space elevator, it is connected to a satellite for balance, and it is like 26,000 miles tall, more or less. Strictly for space tourism: photography and memories.

Private space companies are making advances as fast as NASA ever was now, it's unattached from the government now
And anyways you're straight up wrong, the NASA budget has stayed more or less consistent within 10%~ since the late 90's.

People don't like space shuttles as opposed to human cannonballs launching into space. Jet fuel will get you up there... I propose a magnetic rail that shoots aircraft into space
no wait trains

What we really need to do is commence mining operations on the moon and build a 0g shipyard there. Otherwise it will be incredibly difficult to lift the materials into space to build a godly space empire at this point. From there, mine the astroid belt and maybe colonize Europa.
By the time that's done, I sure as shit hope we have FTL. Even if we don't we can probably buid fast enough relativistic ships that will automatically clone humans and download consciousness upon arival.
I don't see the point in teraforming mars at present. Why not just live in space, then you don't have to pay to land shittons of heavy equipment through atmo.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

terraforming mars would take probably a thousand years after landing all of the equipment necessary. and who knows how long that would take.
