Mushroom poisoning?

Ok so here is my story. On Sunday a friend and I went to a local organic market to participate in a wild mushroom class. There was a really great mycologist there who taught us as much as he could on a 2 hour hike about how to properly ID different kinds of mushrooms. Things like: how to make a spore print, "Pourous shrooms are typically safe to eat, gills not always", "don't go eating random shit", etc... During the hike my buddy properly ID'd a honey mushroom and our guide said that he was correct and they are totally safe to eat. He showed us a few characteristics that made him sure it was a honey mushroom. So at the end of the class my buddy and I met this really cool girl from the group and we decided to hike a little more looking for shrooms and paw-paw fruit. While out there we came across what we thought looked like more honey mushrooms. It was a cluster of them growing at the base of a dead stump and we picked them and took them home. When we got home we cooked them up with some shiitake's and chicken of the wood we got from the organic market. Ok so these guys were delicious. They tasted sweet almost. After we finished eating all the shrooms my stomach immediately felt like it was all knotted up. My buddy said he felt fine but the girl said her stomach was a bit wound up too. The next day my stomach still felt kinda cramped and uneasy but my buddy and the girl we met claimed they felt fine. I started to freak out thinking I might have eaten a deadly shroom. My research showed that it usually takes 6-24 hours to start feeling symptoms from the deadly shrooms and that I would be violently shitting and vomitting and have horrible cramps. So far I'm 40 hours from eating them and I haven't thrown up or had violent diarrhea but I did have a messy shit this morning and 3 solid shits yesterday. The thing is that my stomach still feels like it's all knotted up. Should I be worried? Is it past the point where I should have started shitting and vomiting everywhere? Could I just be having trouble processing all the shrooms we ate? Please save me the embarrassment, I know I am a complete idiot and that I shouldn't have tried to eat a shroom I found after such little training....

I'm not a trusted identifier, but to me it sounds like you might have simply eaten some mushrooms that are new to you, and your body had a bit of a hard time digesting them. You mentioned honey mushrooms and chicken of the woods. Both of these are known to cause digestive upset in certain individuals. I've heard folks recommend parboiling both of these, prior to a saute, to make them easier to digest.

By looking at that pic, you may not have cooked the honey's enough. If I eat honeys, which I don't any more ...I cook the hell out of them. I made the mistake of adding some fresh ones to some hot soup once...thinking the heat would be enough to kill whatever was bad in them but I got symptoms similar to yours.
It will pass, but I learned a lesson...Also, some people are more prone to stomach discomfort from them than others. One thing for sure....You're not gonna die from them. Those do look like armillaria in your frying pan to me.

If you are not sick also you are most likely fine. If you ingested amatoxin I am sure there would be some effect. Mushrooms treat everyone differently like I enjoy chicken of the woods, but they fuck my stomach up and give me a fever while everyone else will be fine. There is also a chance it could be an allergy when dealing with a new species it is always best to take it slow.

i'll second what fryer and Thayendanegea said. you're probably just one of those people that the mushrooms just don't agree with and/or they aren't cooked enough.
always remember: when eating a new-to-you fungus, cook it well and try just a few bites the first time. if no stomach upset, then you can chow down the next day.
my wife is one of those people that cannot eat any al dente mushrooms; they have to be cooked into oblivion for her not to get mild stomach upset. as a matter of fact, young/button Agaricus from the grocery are the ones that give her the most problems. the only one that she can eat with only normal/medium cooking temp is G. frondosa; hen of the woods.
