Hunt for Psilocybe Cyanescens(Please Read)

Today begins, After a hard loss.. Text my buddy and say we should check some spots today to take our mind off the game. He's down. So as i am walking around a bit, searching while waiting for him. i stumble upon a 4-leaf clover

Now i have been hunting for some time now, really not having much luck. In fact i actually find these quite often. I used to think wow i never find any shrooms but i sure find 4-leaf clovers lol. But maybe it really did mean somthing after all. I felt very confident i had some spot in mind before the season started i was sure would have some. Have checked there several times and have struck out. Frustrating when you think you're really putting in your all. done the research, put in the miles, scouted year-round for any possible habitats... would all this work eventually pay off?
So he picked me up and he loads me a dab lol and we went to one of the spots i have been keeping my eye on for sometime. it was much earlier then we usually go out, we pull up and let the dogs out. scouting some of the woodchips, literially the first place i looked at this is what i saw...

BAM! I found them!!!!(or did they find me?) a nice small little patch. A few nice mature ones in there. My first ever find! after all the hard work i put into making a find i was on cloud 9. They were absolutely beautiful, looked flawless in every way.
<a href="http://s123.photobucket.com/user/jiidout/media/20151019_143131.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://proxy.mind-media.com/proxy.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fi123.photobucket.com%3Cwbr%3E%2Falbums%2Fo285%2Fjiidout%2F20151019_143%3Cwbr%3E131.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20151019_143131.jpg"/></a>
Damn they are bluing nice!

So we looked around the area pretty hard, seeing if there were any more. Did not find any. But i didnt care! i couldnt of been happier just making a find like that, and to top it off i'll finally have a few prints to save and look into making my own patches(pm me with a solid tek if you want:D)
After not finding anymore we decide to take off and scope out a few more spots i had in mind, we went to one of them and it was just way to public and it looked really dry, wasnt much of anything muchroom wise growing that we could see. so we hopped back in the car a pushed it to another spot somewhat close and got out with the dogs. he doesnt have leaches atm because one dog will chew through them lol. so we only take them out when we find places that arent busy with people. Was looking around and was seeing tons of mycelium everywhere. im not sure how to identify cyan mycelium i just know there was visable mycelium. No psilocybe cyanescens there that we could find.
So it was getting slightly later in the day and i need to take care of a couple of things so i went back home changed out of my wet shoes from walking through the nature. got an empty shoebox and set up some nice foil to print on. grabbed a bit to eat, hit up my boy and we went back out there. At this point i was all good tho, i felt i had accomplished my goal for the season wich was to get soem prints and make my own patches. So we are just chillen, Thinking of some spots to go. So we decided on a place as we had to go out that way anyways.
We get to the spot and we decided its time for another dab for goodluck. wich my 4-leaf clover tucked in my wallet to keep it safe, we went out again. it was getting late tho, we dont have much daylight left. so we are searching and habitat looks right, BAM my buddy makes his first ever find without any of my help, 2 Cyans only, fairly mature(one half eaten by slugs or somthing) looked hard around the 2 but they appeared to be solitary, couldnt find any pins or any other signs of more growth right then. sorry no pics on those didnt think of it at the time. and as we were walking I happen to stumble upon quite a few pins, some mroe developed but none mature or really that close to. few more days for them maybe? Well at this point we are very excited and we feel very accomplished with our ability to find them now. We really feel we have a greater understanding this season then we have ever had any other season hunting as far as habitat goes.
We scoured the area looking for anymore but couldnt find anythign but those 2 solitary ones and the small group of scattered pins. sorry again for no pics on those : / So we kept looking till we reliezed we only had about 20-30 minutes left of light. so we started heading back to the car, looking intensly, studying the ground. on the way back we found another section with some prime looking habitat, in a last ditch effort, we combed through the area looking and hoping we might find something but it wasnt looking too good. been hunting all day and daylight just about gone we were calling it a day and heading back when right then i noticed something. I thought no way, this cant be right...
BAMBAMBAM

There it was, a patch that i would call serious AF!!! Day of my first find!!! its crazy, the first place i walk to in the habitat i thought was prime i found my first patch ever, literially first spot i walk up on to start my search. and then i make my second find at the end of the same day, literially at the very end. we were out of light. by the time we got back to the car is was dark
So this is something i did not expect at all. I feel amazing right now knowing that i found these, I have spent so much time and effort into learning anything i could and it has finally payed off. May this el nino bring a very long and fruitful season ahead.
Did not get any chance to check wieght but heres a couple pics

Close up with blueing already!

Hard word does eventually pay off, even if it takes a while. will re-check thsoe spots to hopefully claim the ones i left to mature. this was the most sacred experience ive ever had with nature.
I will continue my quest!!
I hope this is only the beginning for me!

I was very surprised at how much we ended up finding. we left tons behind as well, will be very cool to see how much is there again when we check.. that spot was really really public tho lol. i couldnt believe it hadnt been discovored.
several peopel passed behind us as we got as many of the nice ones as we could as quick as we could. we were in plain view and there was quiet a busy street near us as well. none of the people really seemed to give it a second thought about what we were doing.
My first spot we went to tho.. during the time we were looking after we made the first find, we had moved on to a different section of the area and were off the trail searching the wood chips when someone seen us, he was walking past while we were looking around checking mushrooms for anything that looked active, i waited for him to pass by till i check the next one and he did... so i bend to pick this suspisious mushroom and this guy comes walking back around and seen for sure that i picked something i think. came over near where we were exiting back to the path. he was there and made a small comment as we passed by about the weather, cuz it was real nice a sunny around noonish after being overcasted and drizzle. we just went about our way to continue looking but my friend said he thought he was following us around. so we shook him in some trails went back to our first find and covered up the pins with some nearby leaves.
I hope they will be tucked safe for the night

Man I know you have been waiting for this day. I have seen your frustrated posts from time to time. So a big for you brother. I bet you were riding a high when you found both of those spots.

Yeah man totally, it was disheartening thinking I was doing everything right, but they key really is persistence and just finding the right habitat
I have been checking both these spots for a couple years and never seen anything...
This season u have learned if they not there and the habitat is prime, they just may not be up at that time! So don't rule it out.
I couldn't of done this if I wasn't motivated by everyone's finds, everyone is absolutely killing it! I feel proud to contribute.
