Pictures? Do they have an annulus? All cyans should bruise blue. The fact that only some of them are and that you also found them in grass makes me think they could be stuntzii. Stuntzii also have a darker cap.

From what appear to be very white stems in that pic, they seem to be cyans. Maybe take better photos of the mushrooms picked?

In the left pic that doesn't look like bruising, but it's unclear. It could be spores. But the caps look like cyans for sure. The right pic looks like a cyan. Where you cut the stems hasn't turned blue yet? No way to get clearer, closer photos?

I think they're cyans, but clearer photos of all the mushrooms would obviously be ideal, just to be safe. Well also to give us some eye-candy.

A few more high quality pictures would help. And if you've still got a fresh specimen go ahead and take a spore print.

I was thinking they were ovoids. That makes me think these may be stuntzii after all. What do you think?

As long as you've got some solid bluing and dark purple spore prints i'd say your good to go but its always a good idea to wait for a TI to confirm. Nice finds man!
It may be that i can't see high enough on the stem of your mushrooms David but i'm noticing an absence of a certain blue annulus that might indicate stuntzii. What kind of mulch are they growing out of in that picture?
A lot of times stuntzii wont blue much except on the ring, while ovoids tend to blue more easily and in a deeper color. As always go ahead and take a print. Either way looks like it has some potential! You might also try taking some pictures once its reached a more mature state. Sorry i don't have a straight answer but they are beautiful!

Lol, well now look at a pic of another specimen. Exactly what you mention! Not sure of the exact kind of woodchips. I took the pics last year.

They look like cyans to me. You said that they don't have an annulus. If you are sure of that then I am pretty confident in saying they are cyanescens.

Oh haha i was referring to Davids mushroom when i asked about the annulus. Ticks mushroom is very likely a cyan but i hate to give a positive ID given that i'm not a TI.
Your mushroom david looks very possibly like Stuntzii. The two are pretty similar so maybe post a proper id request. Looks great either way
Happy hunting everyone, stay safe!

A T.I. last year called 'em ovoids. There was a discussion about this a week or so ago...no reason to dig it all up again. Unless of course the patch bears more fruit this year.
