Pictures 1-6 18-28 Habitat: Where does it grow? I found this mushroom in a variety of environments, most all of them were close to deer poop, some rabbit poop. First place I came across these was in a sand area, there were some logs and dead grass covered in sand, drain off from further up the mountain. Then i found some on the bank of a wash that had lots of deer feces, very sandy with lots of grass.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. gills were not attached to the stem and they were not tightly packed they are brown. Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. Stem is around 1/8 th inch and hollow ranging from 1" to 2" Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. Cap is around 3/8ths inch to 1 1/8 th inch.in most cases the cap is smooth some look wrinkly when they are wet they are slightly slimy. No specific odor other than mushroom. Spore print color: Brown Very important!
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any. No bruising is noticeable
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Found three in a cluster Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. Gills are not attached to stem White in color Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. Stem ranges from 2/8 th inch thick to 3/8 it's hollow from 1" to 2 1/4" Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. Color of cap is brown and tan caps range from 1"to 2" some have a small nipple Spore print color: White Very important!

Some of those look like Agrocybe pediades. Maybe all are.

The ones with white spores look like Gymnopus dryophilus.

Southern California is good for Panaeolus cinctulus.
Psilocybe cyanescens also occurs there, but it is rare.

I'm near the bottom of riverside co, closer to Palomar and it's observatory, I'll have to hit the 215 south and head that way instead of east I guess. Thanks I love hunting for any mushrooms so much fun.
