have you compared it with peat / lime ???
I'm just thinking diversity of microflora
edit: and by diversity i mean amount
hah, wow i'm really fucking baked

I haven't compared with peat, I don't case much with peat and the real approach was to look at it from a nutritional standpoint. I just recently obtained some jiffy mix which is not sold in Canada so a peat trial may be done down the road. But to be honest i was never a big fan of peat having used cactus mixes and other peat based products. Even with lime they seemed less contam resistant compared to coir and I was never a fan of the textures. Tho they are excellent for PE.

Rez effect is an old school bulk method where you simply mix field capacity vermiculte with colonized grain. It provides a water reservoir where nearly all the nutritional value comes from the grain itself. I just cased mine because I like to case things.
