Know someone who knows about wood pellets?
    #22400481 - 10/18/15 09:48 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Recently bought a place that has a regular wood stove and a pellet stove.  I don't know too much about pellets so i'm checking in here to see who does.
What i've read is you want them to smell like good wood (obviously), otherwise they could be littered with glue and cardboard.  I've also read that a softwood pellet heats nicely.

What do you know? Cause i know phuk all.

Sidenote: I also feel I should look into sweeping the pipes or having someone do it.

Also, this is captaincrap.  Admins i created a ticket for my other account PW, hook it up please.

My friends gma burned soft wood pellets and went through a pallet and a half each winter in Wyoming so around $250 got her through November-April in a decent sized single story home. That's about all I know cuz I unloaded the pallets each year for her. And you definitely want to get the pipes swept. I moved into a house with a stove and didn't do that before we burned some wood and smoked out the whole house for like 6 hours haha

I'll bet 1 of your peckerwood neighbors could answer that. Toss a possum in a pot & yell out "YEEEEE HAWWWW!!"
