I plane on flying to Texas in a few weeks, I have never flown before and would like to bring my friend some home made apple pie moonshine in some mason jars, from what I have gathered you can bring 5 liters of booze under 70percent (140 proof)in you're luggage, but what about unlabeled mason jars of home made liquor that's been diluted with cooked apple pie juice?

Good Question.
I would do some research on the TSA website. It likely outlines specifics.
Or you could say the moonshine is 70% alcohol Not like they are going to test it.

Just put it in a different container like an old store bought alcohol bottle or my family snuck booze onto a cruise by putting it in mouthwash containers if those were in your checked luggage I don't think you'd have a problem.

When I was underage and would go stay with my family in the southern U.S. They had a huge liquor cabinet but didnt drink. from the time I was 13 till I was 17 I would go there twice a year and fill a bunch of water bottles with booze and just stick em in my guitar case, I checked the guitar case It wasnt a carry on. I never had any issues.
Think about it, they cannot prove if its illegally manufactured alcohol. For all they know its ole kentucky or grain alcohol with flavoring. If you put it in a checked bag, taking shine on a plane is NBD in my opinion. Its not a controlled substance, its pretty safe in my opinion.
Worst case scenario, you get pulled aside and they open up your bag. "why do you have alcohol in water bottles?" Well, glass is bulky and doesnt give when force is applied, therefore its bulky and inefficient to pack in luggage vs plastic. Im pretty sure you cant get arrested for having unsealed booze in a checked article of luggage.
Ive been flying since I was 5 years old, been in and out of many airports.

I refuse to use anything other than USPS.
Priority mail needs a warrant to get into.

I doubt it ever happens. You would literally need an atf agent at the airport writing citations. Don't transport anything in a mason jar. They are not designed for transport. Best bet is transfer to a used liquor bottle.

where is it legal to distill alcohol. jesus some states r outta control. those stills are like fire bombs ffs but yeh i dont even think its illegal op. it could be like legal taxed booze that you added flavoring to. If its in ur checked luggage i think you'd be ok.

http://www.ttb.gov/spirits/home-distilling.shtml
Quote:
While individuals of legal drinking age may produce wine or beer at home for personal or family use, Federal law strictly prohibits individuals from producing distilled spirits at home (see 26 United States Code (U.S.C.) 5042(a)(2) and 5053(e)). Producing distilled spirits at any place other than a TTB-qualified distilled spirits plant can expose you to Federal charges for serious offenses and lead to consequences including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
Quote:
Under 26 U.S.C. 5604(a)(1), transporting, possessing, buying, selling, or transferring any distilled spirit unless the container bears the closure required by 26 U.S.C. 5301(d) (i.e., a closure that must be broken in order to open the container) is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both, for each offense.
there are a bunch more, you should seriously just read the whole FAQ
