Emergency Graft Root Stock Question

I've got a case of the rot on one of my most beautiful variegated lophs. I don't really have a lot of root stock options so I was wondering if this Blue pilocereus in the top left beside my TBM in the pic will work well enough to give me a lil more time to find a better stock?
Also I'm taking cuttings from a few of the grafts in this picture so I was wondering if possibly a double graft on top of one of these cut trichs might do the trick?

Hey guys I was looking for some info on the pilocereus as grafting stock but have been unable to find anything on that but I did find this.

I would graft it to one of those grafted trichos, just cut all but the bottom inch or two off, root that cutting and graft the yote onto the tricho base that's still attached to the pereskiopsis. I have a bunch of grafts like that and they are fucking awesome. You get faster growth than with a trichocereus stock but it slows the pereskiopsis down just enough that it makes the scion grow more natural and pup less. I do that on purpose for stuff that I want a more natural shape without the overzealous pupping but don't want to waste a permanent tricho stock since I plan to degraft eventually. It also is way easier to get larger scions to take to the rootstock than trying to balance them or impale them on a pereskiopsis.

There is no reason you can't (totem-pole), Spacey.
Yeah you can do several grafts on a plant. Think of those trees that have like 5 kinds of apples. Its the same logic. Its possible to graft a few kinds of plants together.

We could have a competition - how big a stack of grafts can be produced - with the top one in flower (to prove they are alive)!!

Well here's what I did with it. The scion was a bit etiolated so I mad two graft attempts from it. the tip on a grafted trich and the middle section "which I doubt will survive" on my pilocereus.

Then I also threw this one together just hoping it may make it

Interesting. I would try and protect as long as possible the middle section graft from dehydration. Keep us posted on these.

You could tent your grafts with some clingwrap or parafilm. I generally use some kind of wrap for the first 3-5 days on my pedro grafts, it creates a nice even downward pressure and protects the scion from dehydration. If it had some rot I can see why you'd omit the plastic, but if they're getting a tad dry it might be wise to put some on now.
