Whoa! Trippy!

I didnt know a mutant could grow like that. So weird.

It looks like OP could have a dominant stabilized mutant strain of p cubenis perhaps, just like that stabilized peyote strain you posted.

Very interesting.

The actual mushroom that's growing from the substrate doesn't look like a PE though; At least as from what I've seen.

What strain are you growing? Those look like good ol' PE blobs to me. Pretty common from what I've read.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the quick replies.  I had no idea it'd be a bit of a stumper!

So, these were grown from a spore syringe from my local head shop that seems to sell a lot of them, with different strains.  The strain was "Puerto Rican" (someone going into town picked up the spore syringe.  I wasn't too well-read at the time and he grabbed it because he liked the sound of it I guess.  They also sell B+, which I guess I should've tried first.  No PE though.).  I did find this quote on another mushroom/psychedelics forum: "Some cubensis strains such as Puerto Rican are noticeably harder to get to pin"...

Anyways, the small first flush I did have definitely looked like your standard cubensis and was spread across several of the cakes.  The SGFC is in an open area, no fan running, and is raised off the ground on some mason jars.  The room does run colder than your usual room temp, but there is unfortunately nothing I can do about that.

Thanks to LogicaL Chaos for posting that thread as well.  I will definitely hold off on eating any blobs.  I will also monitor them and post more pics if anything happens, and try to induce blue bruising.  I have time to wait so I'll just continue on with the usual routine and see what happens, if anything more!

Thanks again for your replies.

Those are just blobs from fruiting early, no biggie pick them when your fruits mature, all cubes may do this and it is normally a cake issue. Consolidate longer next time and good luck.

Are these pre-colonsidation blobs caused by a mutant cubenis strain?

Bumping to update rather than starting a whole new thread.

So after having redunked the cakes like I mentioned, I've begun getting many more pins and shrooms coming, which is great.  I am still wondering what to do with these blobs though.  Here's a few more pics from today:

And in this on you can see that one has gone entirely blue:

I cut a small blob open a little while ago and this is what it looked like inside (sorry this picture is a little low quality).  Shortly after, it did turn blue as well:

I guess I'm just looking for some consensus on what to do with them.  Are they all edible and potent?  Should I clean off the fuzzy parts that I assume are mycelium and treat them like any other shroom?  Should I pick them off now and then redunk or wait a bit (they seem to have stopped growing, from what I can tell) ?

Thanks for any further help!

Once they stop growing harvest and treat them like any other shroom.

Dude those bumps are psychedelic truffles, make sure to extract them.
