When I think of Ethnogens, I think of far more plants than just those that people trip from. There are plant medicines, and culinary plants. There are also plants we Use, like gourds to make containers.
I have been wanting to get some Myrrh, (Commiphora) species, and some fankincence (Boswellia), and Bursera fagaroides (Copal). Acacia trees are also a Very Ancient group of ethnogenic trees, that have a number of uses.Various apple and or pear trees for temperate climate. maybe even peaches or plums. Guava and or Mangosteens or Rambutans for tropical and warm areas. Persimmon (Diospyros) species for intermediate climates and also Pommegranates.
Those interested in growing mushrooms, P. cyanescens.. I would encourage getting some Red alder. (Alnus rubra). This tree has a number of uses by the Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest as well as a substrate tree for that species of psilocybe. I have found 'cyans' growing under red alders and in their mulch and leaf litter. (They also like growing under Rhododendrons, along with their cousin-mushroom P. Azurescens).
Thymus species. You can never really have enough of these plants. Rosemary, maybe?
Nicotinia. (one of my favorite natural bug killers).
Salvia Species. Not just Divinorium. But also Salvia apiana, and garden sage. and the Asian red-root varieties.
Basil species. Especially Tulsi, or "sacred basil". and Mints.
Tea Tree - Melaleuca species (various)
Chenopodium sp. 'Goosefoot' as a salad green, spinach alternative. (this plant is a wild weed in my garden). Also Quinoa is a Chenopodium.
There would me more I would mention that would depend on the laws of the area you live in too, like Cannabis, and Lophophora, I will stop here, as these items may give you something to think about and research. I am sure others will give you more options.

I think the "best" is really what will grow well in your zone.
You should post your USDA Zone and perhaps a little bit more detailed description of your climate. An approximate location will usually suffice too.

I am in the south east of the US. Hot climate in the summer. But its sadly almost winter now. Thank you all for the list of species to grow. Anyone know of vendors to get some good salvia clippings? (If I'm aloud to ask that)

these may also be of interest:
Sceletium tortuosum AKA kanna Papaver somniferum AKA poppy Ipomea violacea AKA morning glory Psychotria viridis + Banisteriopsis caapi = ayahuasca Ephreda sinica / nevadensis Passiflora incarnata
these are technically ethnos and you may want to include them for looks, but i would not recommend actually using them:
Datura stramonium (var. tatula is very pretty) Brugmansia sp.
