What makes you think you could "observe" it? Those 2 spots on your face that see light? Im sure they will catch something moving faster than what they observe. If not that, then maybe you can feel it. Im sure that will feel nice.

I already gave you two observations that would support the notion of faster than light matter... Observing an effect preceding a cause would be possible with faster than light matter. Observing a violation of relativity's postulates would be possible with faster than light matter (and conservation of energy is implied by relativity's postulate as well, so observing a violation of that principle also supports faster than light matter).

It appears OP doesn't know what "matter", "speed", or "light" are.

Matter cannot reach the speed of light because as it approaches C (the speed of light) it requires more energy for acceleration. Given mass = energy & energy = mass this proposes a problem. Simply giving it energy gives it mass.
This is the reason rocket ships taper off, they are designed to readily loose mass when they hit that acceleration curb.
It's fascinating, but pearls before swine at any rate.

It is not changing positions. Your brain is registering it as "there" because of the visible light entering ones eye. And even if you were able to get matter to move, it could still never reach the speed of light. Thats one of the fundamental laws of physics, that no matter can move at the speed of light
If it did, it would conceivably make time travel possible. Go past the speed of light for 100 years in say a train going round the world and you will have aged only 20. It is an unbreakable rule of physics.

Is it time travel if you're still traveling through space? Isn't that just regular old travel?

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

If you go faster than light you can do both.

They are connected and related via the space-time interval, but they not the same thing. They have different fundamental units (meter vs second) and mathematically the "metric" component of time is different than the metric component of space, they have opposite signs.

I guess the point I was getting at is that time is inextricably linked to space.

Yes, but you cannot go backwards unless you go faster than light. At slower than light speeds you can only go forward, forward at different rates depending on your relative velocity, but forward only.
