I was wondering if i could use some dried mushrooms I bought off a friend to start growing, or will it not work? I am ok with even the slightest chance of it working I want to try. I don't know anywhere I can buy spores/spore prints off of. Has anyone grown mushrooms from dried?? or what is the most legit place I can order from?

How the fuck do you not know where you can buy them? There are tons of shroomery sponsors who supply them.
I'm not sure how effective it would be. I'm sure not every single spore is dropped when the veil rips, but the majority would be. Then you have to question how old they are, and under what conditions where they dried. Slow drying like in a basic dehydrate there is a chance the spores wouldn't have been killed. If they're very recently dried, your odds increase.
Though I'd imagine your best bet would be an agar tek.
This just makes it all way too complicated unless you're merely doing it to do it. There absoultely has to be a way for you to find prints or syringes you can have shipped.

The caps should still have viable spores in them. Put a cap on some aluminum foil with the gills down and tap on it. You should get some black powder on the foil. That powder is a bunch of spores, and you can do some agar work from there to isolate what you want.

thats more trouble then its worth and you will probably catch contamination right away. Just trade, barter or buy a print

You should be able to separate the contams from the spores by doing a streak plate on agar. It's not that hard. Doing what I said is basically making a spore print. You should always isolate on agar with a spore print anyway. Having a slightly dirtier print probably won't even add any extra transfers if the first streak plate is a good one. What the OP wants to try is definitely doable.
