Can I eat this?
    #22395079 - 10/17/15 08:00 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
I found this patch of mushrooms growing under a old maple tree in a wooded area in the pacific northwest. It seemed to be growing off of the side of the stump where the wood was rotting.
Gills:
The mushrooms have white gill attached to the stem. Them stem is a little off white, the width was about 1/4" the stem is hard to describe, kind of ruff and flaking.
Caps:
The caps range from 2-6" in width, the color fades from caramel brown on the top, to a lighter tan color on the sides. The cap seems solid with thickness as well.

I have no spore print. No Bruising as well.

Yeah they're a good edible.

I ate some earlier, just make sure to cook them well, they're known to give some folks gastric disturbances aka gas/bloat.

Every time I have tried any Armillaria species I wished I hadn't wasted the time and energy to cook them and chucked 'em out!
