So I believe this was my cambodian spore syringe. I made up 7 half pint jars and a pint jar because I had leftovers. Used the pf-tek and these pics are 2-3 weeks after inoculation.
Jar2:

Jar3:

Jar4:

Jar5:

Jar6:

Jar7:

So what do ya think? I know jar 7 looks nasty.

Nice!!! The mycelium in the last 6 pics are very blotchy. This could indicate a bacterial contam of some sort. I would keep a close eye on those. Look out for any discolorations in the next few days. The other jars are looking great tho!

Also here is my first attempt at making LC. Definitely filled the jar to high but now I know for next time.

You made that LC from an MS syringe right? Syringes are never 100% clean and bacteria can easily go unnoticed inside a LC jar.
It would be wise to test it out on an agar plate first, to ensure it's in fact clean, you never know what nasties could be hiding in there. Just a word of advice before you start using it on grain jars or brf.

Yup used the last bit of the syringe to make the LC. Figured it'd be worth a shot. Will try it out on a brf jar and see what happens.

Well here's an update. They've been in the FC for about a week now. Haven't had much growth. Starting to think I have too many holes in my FC? The cakes get misted and fanned every few hours but often seem dry. I added more perlite today because I only had about an 1.5" of it. Here's my setup:

I have a space heater setup about 2ft away an it's not pointed directly at the FC, does a nice job keeping it between 70-78ish. Was thinking it might be causing the dryness.
Here's a few FC shots

Thank you all

IMO, you don't have enough holes, there should be holes on all six sides top and bottom included 1/4" 2" apart in a grid pattern. You need 4 to 5 inches of moist perlite. My guess why they are drying is a properly constructed SGFC creates it's own air currents and if you don't have holes in the bottom and don't have the fruiting chamber elevated up off the surface, cool humid air cannot be drawn through the bottom holes, so you are not getting much benefit from your perlite.
Also there should be no type of fan anywhere near it to disrupt the natural air currents, if you must use a heater keep it far away. Also SGFCs don't perform well in tight places, best to have a few feet clearance on each side. Check out the basic principles of a SGFC and make sure it is constructed and operated properly, good luck and keep us updated! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20195542#20195542

I've added more holes, top and bottom, and the perlite has been brought to 4in. I've noticed the cakes have a bit of blue bruising. Should I up the misting or dunk them for a few hrs?

Hey they're looking pretty good man. After you get the hang of the process start up on some grains. Keep us updated with pics.

Good job dude! Now take a spore print with one of those and learn how to isolate using agar!! It is truly the next step.

Some caps have started opening, whens the best time to pluck these bad boys? I know before they poop out some spores. Maybe when cap fully opens?

Before that. When you see the veil tearing from the stem, that's prime time for picking
