What about self defense or to protect your children? Every mammal worth its salt will fight to the death to protect its young. Especially humans.
I would never murder. But I would certainly kill to protect myself or my children, or my neices and nephews. I would without hesitation throw myself in front of an oncoming truck to push my daughter out of the way if I had to.
That's different, but I really wouldn't know unless I had to face the situation. I pray with every fiber of my being that none of us EVER have to deal with anything of the sort.

I mean, I would and have eaten rabbit, but I could probably never actually kill one unless I was starving to death or something. Call my a hypocrite.

Depends on what kind of person they were and how difficult it would be to kill them. My first kill I'd likely charge $250K+; after that I'm already a murderer so I'd potentially go for a minimum of $50k for an easy kill; price would increase for difficulty of kill and increased chance of getting caught.
But shit tbh I might be killing multiple people for living expenses and around $25K a year in the USMC. lol
alright off the hook as a conservative 336, but still sound like a shitty person off of that.

Shitty person? Try sociopath. Looking forward to killing people is far beyond the realm of 'shitty person'
-------------------- "I have no way of knowing whether you, who eventually will read this record, like stories or not. If you do not, no doubt you have turned these pages without attention. I confess that I love them. Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

I honestly dont see the problem with this, we're a highly intelligent species thats literally inherited the earth. Whats wrong with culling the diversity to suit our needs? Who the fuck needs tigers? You have any idea how bloodthirsty and unforgiving nature is? Fuck em, aside from necessities like birds and bees and whatever else is vital to maintaining the earths homeostasis theres absolutely no need to keep dumb, useless animals like pandas around. I think its our duty to cultivate and design an ecosystem thats the most beneficial to us, not to act as librarians preserving every single lifeform out there.

True me upsetting the balance of nature never has a good outcome. It's nearly always a snowball effect that ends up effects many different things in many negative ways and can eventually lead to the entire destruction of an ecosystem.
Eventually the Earth will by one giant desert with the way we're going.
That's why I support a whole-hearted effort into the transfer of consciousness into machines; once that happens the need to harvest many things will no longer be necessary. Our main concern will be the procurement of various metals and other materials necessary for robotics.
FYI I'm pretty high right now.
My point still stands though.
Eventually earths going to be an arid desert anyhow and our stars gonna consume every last gram of matter it has. The fuck are these animals gonna do aside from die when it happens?

increasing livestock numbers in desert areas to mimic the now extinct or significantly reduced herd animals, will rejuvenate soils, increase water retention, and store atmospheric carbon in the soils and grasses.
