homeboys in jail :(
    #22390595 - 10/16/15 09:06 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

One of my best homies got popped a few days back.  POCS, 4-200grams.. Cocaine .  I feel real bad. Wish there was something i could do for him.  Bond is $10,000.  Next court date isnt until 11/20.  Fuck, thats over a month till his next court date and you know they're just gonna post-pone it again. Wish my homie was here -_-

The resetting is in his interest. Sucks that it's gonna be drawn out like that when you're locked up, but if you just plead guilty or accept whatever deal right out of the gate, you're going to get fucked hard. Resets give the lawyer more time to evaluate everything, find arguable points that could be detrimental to the prosecutor's case and try and work out a better deal.

4-200 grams?  That's a pretty huge fuck you as a charge?

Time served is time served too.  Him sitting is just going to count towards his sentence so getting that shit outta the way is better then sweating at home with a rope to hang yourself.

Cocaine sucks.  I guess it's cool as a novelty occasionally at parties and fests, but people that use it and fiends to make a living....I don't know.  I used to have a severe coke problem, I myself needed to get arrested when that was going on, luckily I never did AND pulled myself out of it.  That shit is a demon.

i love it too. Think everyone around here does. Its unfortunate that people like my homeboy have to suffer for it. Wish he was here. He was like the only person who would come over at like 3, 4 in the morning, do a line with ya and watch youtube, listen to music or whatever.  Now i have alot of boring nights and alot more to come

Yep, as long as they're ordered off amazon. Don't know what your area allows/doesn't, but my local jail only allows books bought from online and sent directly to the jail.

Not sure, you'd be best off asking your friend, or looking at the specific webpage for that specific jail.

Money is always the best though as commissary is used as currency, failing real currency, and can be used to buy drugs, pruno, etc.

Books are good for passing the time though.

That means that they must get permission to recieve books. So if theres a way to send him mail, ask him in your letter if he can recieve books lol. Good luck for your friend. Coke is awsm.

It says it has to come from publisher and not a hard back and has to be new . Basically means I have to order it off Amazon and have directly sent to him.  Fucking bullshit

A lot of people can't afford good lawyers. The "decent one" I got when I caught a felony was 5k. That's not even taking it to trial. For trial, it would've been at or above 10k. That said, a decent lawyer would probably be adequate for the case.

Always take your case to trial, that's when you get the best deals, typically, right before the final hearing.

I wish I would've known that for some of my felonies.

Getting caught with weed isn't too bad. Only time I spent in jail was holding while waiting to get bailed out. Didn't even get probation, just fines and shit. (I'm aware his friend wasn't arrested for weed, just saying a drug charge in Texas isn't always bad).

Well.. I think hes locked away for good this time.  On his 2nd or 3rd time visiting probation he failed a piss test for cocaine. He was supposed to go back to court sometime soon to figure out his sentence, ect., but instead he got busted again with more cocaine. IDK the details, just know that my neighbor said his phone was off and i texted another homeboy of mine who said he got popped. He shows up in the system today for PCS 1-4grams.

just a few days ago, my other homeboy got popped for meth. He went to jail twice the month or so before for weed.  I feel like they're all headed down a bad path. I mean, i like to get high and shit too, but the way they're going isnt too pretty. Seems like they're always being watched or paranoid and bring trouble to themselves. It seems me and a select few others are the only ones who keep a sane head and watch what we're doing and who hang out with

Prison is in a facliity where they strip you of nearly all your rights and most of your dignity. The cliche hippy bullshit isn't much of a comfort when you're locked up. Meditation doesn't save you from ending up someone's bitch.

Make sure he doesn't have to purchase it himself through commissary. When they make you pay commissary the Jail is going to get their cut. It cost me like 3 bucks each time I put money on someones commissary. Also, last time I was in jail they had tablets so I could see it being possible that he can order his own books from the pre-selected book company or whatever policy that jail has.

Ive had buddies do very well faking tears and pissing and moaning about how bad their addictions are, to then be given more treatment options instead of sentences, but it might depend on the state as to whether you would get off light.  One had 17 felonies, a few of them violent ones, so its not just the softies it can benefit

15 is right.  I know a chick who got caught shoplifting with a bag of H and a stack on her, and 8 oxy 40's.  She got treatment and she has failed more than 5 piss tests and is still in treatment, when she finally finishes treatment she will not have any felonies. I had 6 and did 6 months of a 10 year sentence with treatment.  Really depends on the state and your demeanor in court. Also gotta have a damn good attorney.

Unfortunately that is very true as well.  The judges mood can change in a flash.  A good lawyer will drag a case out until the lawyer is on the same page as him with treatment, and you better not go in there and piss on the plea deal you get by dressing like a dirt bag or saying anything aside from "guilty" "yes your honor" "No your honor" let your lawyer do the talking.  Judges don't wanna hear your little speech unless they ask you.  Just understand their motives, which is money, and act remorseful even if you aren't.

It doesn't really mean anything. It's Harris County. You're lucky if a misdemeanor doesn't take 6-12 months+ to resolve (unless you just plead guilty right away and deal with the consequences). He should probably ask his lawyer to find out what the hold up is though.

Also, he went and fucked up and wound up right back in there, so I wouldn't think getting to him in a timely manner is really up there on their priority list.
