Trying to fix myself with Ayahuasca and mushrooms...Serious self healing to commence!

I've always been "keen" one might say with the idea and use of drugs, ever since I first learnt of their exsistance I was fascinated by the stories I'd here of people's experiences. I started smoking weed at around 13 and continued to do so until the present day (now 26) growing many many kgs over the years for both myself and to sell. I also had a year or so at about 15-16 using extacy quite a lot, fun lots of sex but not really me partially because I dislike clubbing and the comedown for me is stupidly horrid. Then at 16-18 I went down a bad path thanks to workmates in the kitchen industry and my own faults led to an awful lot of cocaine, crack and smoking heroin plus some very regrettable sexual mishaps. I lost a lot in this period and although I'd always struggle with friend, school and life in general at this point I tried to top my self with 50+ paracetamol which only resulted in a week in hospital while my kidneys either did or didn't start working again, they did. I then spent a few years working as a chef in very top end places, great fun, high stress but kept me busy until my Muscular Dystrophy forced me to quit. Slowly slowly I've been getting back to the point I was at ten years ago with feeling suicidal at times and generally lost and pointless.
so now I'm looking at psychedelics to bring me to a new place. I know there are many things for me which point me towards this form of therapy and I'm willing to go through the pain of ayahuasca and questionable level 5 shroom trips. Does anyone here know anything about serious use of these substances or has used them themselves for these kind of reasons, not just to get high. (As much as I like that ) I've got two very strong trips off libs in the last month under my belt and both were profoundly helpful and have done more good for me than anything the nhs has offered. Also a failed ayahuasca trip and a bad shroom + Syrian rue trip that hasn't put me off. Im about to order some more ayahuasca plants and have a few more goes.

From what I understand (I have yet to do ayahuasca personally, but plan to within the next couple weeks), it is hard not to take ayahuasca seriously. It isn't recreational even though it can be blissful. As long as you choose a setting that is conducive to introspection, and you plan it out right, I don't think there is much of a chance that you will fail to have a meaningful experience.

Whereas LSD, mescaline, mushrooms, often require some work in order to get a spiritual kind of experience from them, ayahuasca seems to be much more spiritually charged. From what I hear, it is almost a given that one's ayahuasca experience will be rich with meaning that is intrinsic to one's own life.

Hopefully that's the case. My research so far suggests that it can take some time to get the brew and ceremony right so it does go well, until then I believe it's a lot of bad feelings and puking. Im Most likely going to take it at home, at night with my girlfriend to watch over me. I trust her with my life. I expect doing it in nature could be good but I expect it would just stress me out trying to plan it.
I'm currently brewing some Mimosa Hostilis for a later date, taking care not to over heat and boiling the plant material three times. I'll cool, filter and reduce tomorrow. I've also ordered 250g of Banisteriopsis caapi and 100g of Psychotria viridis for my learning. I'll use some of the caapi for the mimosa tea attempt but after that I plan on sticking to caapi and viridis. I'll ditch Syrian rue and mimosa most likely. I'm also wondering if combining other Ayahuasca additives to the brew would have any benefit and whether appropriate incense should be used, although I don't want to ask too much of my girlfriend...
I'm finding the mushrooms quite incredible so far which is good as they are less complicated to use but I'm limited right now to how many libs I can find (so far nearly an oz dry for the year ahead ) while I figure cultivation out. I don't like taking weaker doses, when I have I've not enjoyed the effects it's only when the teachings come into play at higher doses that I enjoy the experience.

Yeah man, you're like me. I think the real magic is with the higher doses. It sounds like you have a better plan for ayahuasca than I have. I'll probably be alone. I don't really know anything about additions to the brew. Just make sure whatever else you add (if anything) doesn't conflict with the fact you will be taking an MAOI. Personally, I won't even be making a brew. I'm going to put ground up rue and ground up mimosa into vegetable capsules and swallowing those (rue first, then mimosa). Apparently there is less nausea doing it that way (but if you listen to the shamans they will tell you that the purge is important so you might not even want to reduce nausea).

My first try earlier this month was Given to me by a friend with instructions of how to brew. Grind 3g of rue and simmer in maybe a litre of water with the juice of a lemon for 30 minutes then strain and reduce to half a cup. The mimosa is also simmered the same way but for two hours, I did 13g. Strain through a t shirt and reduce to half a cup. I took the rue 45 minutes before the mimosa and held the rue down fine, no nuasier but less than a minute after the mimosa I puked and that was that. No real affect. I've read that caapi is kinder you could say and a better teacher plus it comes from the same region as the DMT containing plants so that's got to help with the whole spiritual connectivity of the plants..as for additive I just mean other ayahuasca plant blends of DMT containing plants that some add to the brew.
I really want to take this seriously and do it properly so I have some chance of gaining something from it.
