Are YOU only everything you've ever experienced?

Could you be less or even more if you weren't? I feel I am absolutely more then the things I have seen, touched, heard etc... My imagination is certainly more then all of these things. :tongue2:

Nope, that's only partly true.

IMO, you are nothing more than the sum of your experiences AND your genetic material.

"My imagination is certainly more then all of these things."

Let's say you've experienced 3 things, A, B, and C. (Of course your memories, experiences, and all that encompass billions upon billions of variables but I'd get carpal tunnel ten times over typing that out.)

Your imagination is not A + B + C, it's more like A * B * C, it's also A + B + C, and A + C, A * B, B * C, etc...

The vast number of combinations and possibilities of what your brain can spew out seems almost infinate, when in reality it could easily be strange new combinations and warpings of what you already know, remember, and have experienced, coming through conciously and subconciously.

Remember, falling into the trap of "it feels like it must be something bigger and better, therefore it must be" is pretty easy. Just because your brain is giving you that feeling doesn't mean it's correct, it just means that the way your brain works causes you to feel that way. I just used an applicable quote in a post today:

?The true critical thinker accepts what few people ever accept -- that one cannot routinely trust perceptions and memories.? --James Alcock, ?The Belief Engine?

I think we are also our past lives, experienced, but not remembered.
