Not properly hydrated spores

Hi guys: This is my first post. I have a question, i'm new in this very interesting world. Some years ago i suffered a severe brain damage by a viral disease, i'm absolutely fine after a lot of work, but i still feel some damage, some time ago i was reading about how psilocibin stimulates neurogenesis, so i've been researching by myself, so i decided give it a try. I bought spores, prepared wheat grain(pftek for me is no viable, in my country is nearly imposible get vermiculite). But i think that i didn't left hydratate properly the spores when i prepared the syringe from spore seal. A week happened since then, i only prepared two jars to test my first time,no one show signs of psilocibe micellium or contamination. Do you think that altough spores wasn't good hydrated could be a chance to germinate. I've been thiking, that given that there's no contamination make a syringe with properly hydrated spores.
Thanks

The spores will hydrate in the syringe, I think its good practice to leave the syringe for a bit before using but I think you will be ok.
Sometimes it takes quite a while to see germination, a week isn't long. Be patient
Although you don't see contamination, things like mold will hide in your grain. It will look and behave Just fine but contaminate when you put your substrate into fruiting conditions. I have had many successful grows going from spore syringe to grains. But making a truly clean syringe is very difficult. I s ugguest you learn to germinate your culture on agar first, and inoculate your grains with that.
I dont mean this as discouragement! Just good advice. Since you are starting off in this hobby with grains you might as well do it proper and start with agar
Good luck with your grow!

Hi mushpunk:
Thanks for your advices, more than discouragment thats make me more motivated, may be depending results i will try with agar, i have some biology knowledge. By the way aparently spores began to germinate, but i`m a little worried ´cause in the area where i spread syringe content two or three kernels have a pale green color while others look covered with white powder, in some place i read that sometimes that kind of coloration happens when colonization init, anyway i think that is early to say if it`s really or not contamination, i know it will be a slow process i dont count with anykind of incubator, but in my country we dont have seasons(some says that here there´s an everlasting spring ) so temperature is nearly 'constant' all year around so inside my apartment.
Again thanks

Most of us only use incubators when temps are below 60, some peo ppl below 65.
If your room temp is above 60 you probably don't need one. Shouldnt be much slower if any.
But pale green, powdery white? Sound contaminated absolutely man. Sorry to say. Post a picture if you want but Im almost sure of it from the description

6-8 days is probably the peak of the bell curve when it comes to spore germination.
Unfortunately, there is basically no instance where green or white powder would be anything other than contamination. Cube mycellium should appear appear at least somewhat fiberous and demonstrate spheric growth within a few days of germination.
Just want to double check and make sure that you have a pressure cooker. Otherwise grains are not really an option.
Good luck finding what you need. I'm not sure if you can really regrow brain material with psilocin, but I can certainly see it helping your brain to learn new ways to circumnavigate the damage. Also it's about the best experience ever.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Thats some strange growth listen th o bodi he knows his shit....def not cubensis myc and fyi I make syringes from print and use them right away normally with no issues depending on the print...I think hydration becomes an issue when working with a very old print(seversl years old)good luck bro

well i opened the jar and oficially my first time was a fail XD , anyway i will do a pair more of tries and i`ll do with agar.
Thanks guys for your support
By the way do you know where i can find pics of first stages of colonization?

THANKS!!!! I discovered what happened last time, i think that i found the contamination fountain, a perlite that used to put into the jars, i forget sterilize before use it. Reason? I made a third jar only with grains and spores hydrated two days, and grains looks more like the ones on the link spacechildo shared. I`ll be posting pics

You.. put perlite in jars?
-Why? -What makes you think that would cause the problem if you sterilized the jars?
So those white clumps.. those aren't growth.. those are perlite??

The perlite is there to hydrate the spore
Seriously though op, I am curious as to what tek you are following or where you got your information from.

Sounds like he's doing brf tek but instead of verm he's using perlite. Definitely wont work but hopefully provides clarification.

Love when people put an inert volcanic glass in their substrates. Gotta love that buncha crunch.
