Grow whatever strain. It doesn't matter really. I like spawning grains. Make a few tubs and fruit the compost mix as a cake in a mono (just cut the top off the bag). Air pumps etc suck IMO. Return that shit. Build passive systems. Monotubs are great.

i would recommend golden teacher. they are beautiful mushrooms and have a reputation for being a good strain for beginners.
apparently air pumps are not done anymore. in the past people used to think humidity was the one thing that was more important then anything else. nowadays though people are saying fresh air exchange is the most vital thing to manage.
from what i have seen and read providing proper FAE seems to drastically enhance the margin of error for all other aspects of the grow, including humidity and temperature ranges.
a monotub is a design that seems to be refined over time. make sure you follow a tek to get the configuration right or it might not work as well. the teks are fairly specific about hole size, placement and substrate/casing depth.

A cubes a cube
Look into grains > monotubs
Passive airflow ftw.
20C is fine. No need to raise it.
Spawn > cvg is always going to be winning
Trays in a sgfc for leftovers??

Hmmm, always had luck with spores101 and they are like 1 days shipping away, im in b.c. And dont like to ship cross borders :/ whats the reasoning behind the dislike?
As far as the passive vs air pump, havent even bought it yet! Still a bit unsure, i have no drill to make passive holes in my tub, anyone have ideas that dont involve buying a drill or superheating a soup can? Think my room mates would notice a gnar plastic burning and i have no heat source anyway...
-------------------- First Cyan (indeed first wild Psilocybe of any kind) that I ever did find! Oddly enough, she was alone, in a fairly dark coloured mix of compost and soil, where as every other cluster since was in light/alder type chips!

Don't grow without the knowledge of everone living with you. That never ends well from what I have seen.
Spores101 is unethical. All their cubes are b+ except for their Great white monster which is a renamed AA+. They are notorious for contamed syringes as well, especially oyster contamed syringes. There is a reputable Canadian supplier that is recommended by one of our sponsors. But I have had spores shipped from the US many times with no issues. Go with a sponsor

My roomie knows, just dont think burning plastic would be appreciated given how absurdly Vegan-ecofriendly nut he is
