Hello all, I was curious to hear what the communities opinion is the "best" inoculation methods; i.e. still air chambers, glove-boxes, hood's, tents, etc. I am interested in anything yall have had success with and what seems to work the best for you. Hopefully we can all learn. Thanks for so much help, Miles Davis.
-------------------- Hey I'm a new grower and new to mushrooming in general I hope to learn as much about mushrooms as I possibly can I may be going to graduate school for mycology in the future, but I'm 27 and need money. But hell life's right in front of me, nothing to look forward to. Best of luck to all.

Agar. And you can be pretty sloppy on initial inoculation with agar and still get a clean culture. Sabs are the best IMO. FH is so easy, but a lot of agar work (spores and contams, the main reasons to use agar) should still be done in a sab.

SAB has never failed me...I've failed me but my SAB is the best investment I ever made. It doesn't have to be super complicated, I just cut arm holes in a tote with a dremel tool, wear gloves, tyvvek sleeves, and spray a soapy water mist before beginning work. Get into Agar as soon as possible, you won't regret it.

I agree with these guys. Flow hood or still air box. For home cultivation still air box is fine. But flow hood is sooooooooo nice to work in front of. I agree with Mad Season , you're going to want both. There are situations I still use SAB over FH. You need to use awesome sterile tech with both
All innoculations should start with agar regardless.
