Panaeolus Cyanescens or other psilocybe?

Hi all, I have a question. To start, I'm a noob here, but I have hunted psilocybes from the mid 80's through the 90's with some regularity. All of my hunting has been within Florida, from the panhandle through the satellite coast area. I have, however taken a long break. Before the net, we used the field guides to ID different species. One in particular, and the one that has recently sparked my interest once again, is the Panaeolus Cyanescens, or what we had come to know as the Cyanescens. I have looked through the galleries, and I've yet to see any photos that are dead ringers for the ones we used to pick frequently. The overall shape and color of the cap seems spot on, as well as the description of the stipe. But the one thing I don't see is the purple-black ring staining just underneath the cap that was so common to the species we used to harvest in Central Florida, and to some degree up here in the panhandle as well. Any help would be appreciated, and I apologize for no pics. The thought to join and post struck me today after I returned from a hike down the side of a large pasture, and spotted some colonies which were what I've come to know as the cyanescens, but all were lacking any staining on the stipe, however did quickly bruise the purple/black upon being handled as expected. No doubt, as many of them as I have picked so long ago that they are active, just not absolutely sure what the family is that they belong to.

Please post some pictures.
The rule is that if the spore print is black or dark purple brown, and it bruises blue - it is active and non-toxic.

Does it look like this with blue/black under the cap? This was growing out of cow dung. It is small (a few inches tall) and very delicate. The spore is black. Can anyone ID this?

Thanks Alan, and yes they are psychoactive for sure, as I have consumed many in days gone by lol. Saturday,I will be hiking the same route, and I will see if I can get pics.My question is mainly out of curiosity as to the exact classification, and it's likely the P.Cyan. I no longer consume them, but my hunters eye is still strong when strolling along a pasture lol. WPS, they don't look like the ones you posted, but are rather bell shaped as well. I have spotted ones like the ones in your pic in the past. We only ever harvested cubensis or the other type I mentioned since they were verified and easy to positively ID.

For the Panaeolus cyanescens group you will need a microscope to get a good species name. If you do not have a microscope, just call it Panaeolus cyanescens.

My main question is whether or not the Panaeolus Cyanenses in fact leaves a spore ring around the upper part of the stipe. From viewing gallery photos, I just don't see it, and that is essentially the only difference as far as I can tell. I hope the approaching cool front will hold up so I can get some photos, as I'm sure you guys can tell me straightaway. Thanks again, and I will try and get a photo up asap

I finally got back out there, and no pans to be found. This is the only life I saw on the patties, a sure sign the season is coming to a close for us. I've seen this species for years, but don't have a clue as to what it is,
