So i almost posted this the other day. . . i felt later i should have!
hehe. . .
waiting is a divine skill. . . ' those who have confidence advance, those who have certitude, wait ' -mirra
or - ' learn to wait, and while you're waiting learn to concentrate ' - Moondog
sometimes one should act though
hehehe oh!
when i was a kid, ahh,, my dad would say, ' you say should too much! ' hehehe. . .
it got on his nerves a bit - hahahaha ah, i would also follow him around sometimes as a very little kid and he would say,
' is there a string attached from me to you? '
but it was with love, and he wasn't upset, it's very pleasant for me to think of. . .
and i'm laughing and smiling a bit for no reason, but that's okay hehe
anyway wanted to share this -- another thread, when i mentioned Shinto, briefly, and Lafcadio, such a beautiful, wonderful writer. . . Lefkada's sun, is my poetic nickname for him,
apparently very well known, japan considers him their own, naturally. he wrote many wonderful stories,
and shared so much light and beauty. . . Gleanings From the Buddha is wonderful; and for the first time,
i met Shinto -
so i was looking up the name, he mentioned a deity of Earth, i didn't find it yet - but in my search,
this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Japanese_deities
 - - -
So much love, peace, and good wishes to everyone.
Namaste!!

Thanks for posting this. I really love learning more about the Japanese 7 lucky gods and other Shinto beliefs. While my stay as a child in Japan, I would often see tiny statues of them around in businesses and houses like in a little altar. As well as Shinto festivals during the year. They would have vendors and lucky prayer rituals during them. It's amazing how superstitious Japaneses people can be. But I admire that as well, because of the preservation of historical and religious culture. I've been also trying to find some statues for my own home online as well.

Very welcome! Yes when I read the first chapter of Lafcadio Hearn's book, it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life... I read it very slowly both times... The first time -- it awakened such depths of love and beauty, and wisdom... I could tell it was written from an incredible beautiful, transcendental place... I read it very slow, and absorbed it slow... Such respect for words, for truthfulness, and the rest-- so full of wonder, and containing such a beautiful impact. Truly, truly, transcendental and beautiful, and so much light. The second time I read it was two nights ago; this time I read it all the way through. . . The first part is a long-ish introduction, I would say, to Shinto in general, the culture and the rest; then is the story of what I may only call a very sacred name, Hamaguchi Gohei. This story reads-- all of it reads, from such an incredible level of beauty and wisdom, and transcendental... Koizumi Yakumo, (the same as first mentioned name), is the most wonderful story-teller I have come across since Stevenson... I like to also call him, Japan's Stevenson.
Not only is he such a wonderful story-teller, with deep respect, love for words, and their impact, and how to use them in the best way-- also, has entered deeply into such a sacred tradition, all of this combines to make an incredible, incredibly beautiful and wonderful story, full of depth, beauty, wisdom and love... Incredible in the positive sense, not in the negative, hehe.
So much love and peace, J.

Oh - noper! I do like them, though. I grew up believing I was mostly Scottish, hehe... or something like that.
Like Pachoo, my dad spent a while in Japan as a kid, so that was part of my family tree... my uncle later became an aikido teacher, and shared some of that with me.
