Of course we do. I suppose some girls may start later than guys since there's that whole enculturated shame-factor surrounding female sexuality but I can testify that I and every female I'm friends with do it and are totally comfortable about admitting it.

While I cannot speak for all girls, I will say that I have an extremely high sex drive and even though my husband is wonderfully accomodating, I do masturbate to satiate some of my sexual urges. I have friends who masturbate as well, so no, I have never thought of it as strictly a guy thing.

Hey wait a minute, why don't we just quit all this fuckin' around and fuck each other?

Yeah, that's 'cause they got the proverbial "drop" on us.

If all men stopped drooling on them every time they walked by and made them all feel sort of unwanted, the polarity would reverse and the tables would turn in our favor.

Women everywhere would be be falling all over us, now that would be nice.

Girls are pickier about whom they fuck because of evolution.
From a man's evolutionary viewpoint it was best to screw as many girls as possible, so as to spread as many of his genetic material.
From a woman's viewpoint fucking any man was not good, because of the chance of pregnancy. If a girl gets knocked up, she has to walk around with another organism in her body for 9 months, which is very taxing, and was even moreso 1000s of years ago. So she should be very picky about who she fucks.

Although we have condoms etc now, the evolutionary pathways aren't removed that easily. I saw a test on TV once. A nice good looking girl asked guys if they wanted to fuck her 18/20 said yes. Then a good looking guy asked the same, 0/20 girls said yes..

Not masturbating is a sign of unhealthy hangups about sex.
A lot of people were raised to feel guilty about their sexuality.

There are some women who have very small clitorises(clitori?) and have difficulty achieving any sexual pleasure... some go their entire lives without experiencing an orgasm.

It's not that it's impossible for them, but they may have to experiment with different toys and whatnot. It's not out of the ordinary to hear of women who didn't start masturbating until they were in their 40's because prior to that they were too ashamed to try to seek out what they were missing. Nowadays, there are all kinds of people writing books and selling products that will help the sexually challenged woman find a way to masturbate sucessfully.

I'm seriously considering having that printed on some leaflets and using a blimp to drop thousands of them on football games.

Its the men that are so stupid and uncouthe that they would give their ringfinger to sleep with a girl like Britney Spears (who is far from unique- there are millions of women that look exactly like her, or any other broad for that matter) that fuck it up for the rest of us. settin bad precedents

Too many no-balls havin, pussywhipped guys that cant stand up for themselves or face the prospect of being alone for 5 minutes.

As for me, I practice what I preach. The second a girl gets needy or bitchy, I'm outta there. And tears do not work on me. I have college education in Psychology and I know about all the games women play and I simply refuse to participate. If that means I only get laid once every few months instead of every saturday night, then so be it. At least the reltionships I have are honest.

Women would respect men a lot more if we werent so dependant and predictable. It takes 2 to play games in a relationship, and I aint playin. But a lot of women expect games, unfortunately, because they have been messed with by other men. And those other men probably learned the games from other women. Its a viscious fuckin cycle that that we all must take responsibility for as individuals.

I think men would respect women a lot more if they told the truth more and weren't as manipulative. At least with the way things are, I stand out from the crowd a bit. Unfortunately, it's only a bit. As for women, sex, and society, women who 'go with the flow' on sexual mores trap themselves in the end.

I somehow doubt that.  Women don't reward honesty with tender kisses.  99% of the women I've encountered couldnt handle an honest relationship without freaking out or being irrational.  Let me give you an example:

A couple months ago, I was on a date with a girl I met in class.  Its important for me to know that a date cares about me and isnt just there for the free dinner, so I asked her a question:

"Did you like me before I asked you out?"

Now I've asked that question to a lot of girls, and this one had a pretty good answer.  She told me she was hoping I would asked her out, she thought I was sexy and agreed with what I said when I spoke in class.  A+ answer.  Then I asked her the follow up question:

"If you liked me then, why didnt you ask me out?"

Her response:

"Thats a man's job."

I've gotten this same response to this question many times before, and it always infuriates me.  In the past, I have responded with:

"Well, isnt that a bit like saying that cooking, cleaning, and raising children is a woman's job?"

And in the past, I always got a bitch response, complete with an exasperated sigh and a roll of the eyes.  Didn't get any either.

Now, if I had been honest with this chick I would have told her how much her answer to my question offended me.  I would have asked her how she would like it if the same preconcieved standards were applied to her.  But I wasnt in the mood to go home alone that night, so I kept my mouth shut about it and changed the subject.  Got laid that night, too

women encourage dishonesty in relationships by not wanting to deal with the truth.  They want a man that is all sunshine and rainbows, even though he does not exist.  They force us to lie.  Honesty is the same thing as celibacy

I've been being honest with chicks for the past couple months and I havent got any.  Soon, I will resort to lying and playing games again, because its the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Any books on this subject DoctorJ? You bring up some good points.

Friendships between girls are also fucked up. They always lie against eachother, and constantly talk behind eachothers backs. Then they usually get huge fights at some point.
Whereas me and my friends are mostly honest and joke about eachother all the time. We almost never have rows and they're almost always over before they start..

The idea first crossed my mind to do it when I was like 12 or 13 but I was to ashamed to try. Like I mentioned before, there's the whole enculturated shame factor surrrounding female sexuality and I was a victim of it. When I actually started doing it (around 16)I still felt dirty about it for awhile, but I knew intellectually that I shouldn't feel that way so I kept trying to get over the lame ass hangups. Since I didn't know what I was doing for awhile it wasn't all that much fun, but it didn't take long to figure things out  Now that enculturated shame and sense of "grossness" is long gone and I enjoy my time with alone with my self :smirk:

That's because women who ask men out are looked down upon.  You would (even though you are going to say "no I wouldn't") look down upon a woman who asked you out.  Every man I have known eventually admits to this.  They only want a woman to ask them out because they are lazy.

I've gotten this same response to this question many times before, and it always infuriates me.  In the past, I have responded with:

"Well, isnt that a bit like saying that cooking, cleaning, and raising children is a woman's job?"

Yes it is, and on top of that women are now expected to work outside the home to earn a paycheck, and then come home to their second, unpaid, not appreciated job of caring for your lazy ass, and raising your kids.

You are applying those standards to her by playing your childish, stupid game, and in a way that she is probably not smart enough to realize.  Demonstrated by her going home with you.  Poor girl.

women encourage dishonesty in relationships by not wanting to deal with the truth.  They want a man that is all sunshine and rainbows, even though he does not exist.  They force us to lie.  Honesty is the same thing as celibacy

Sure, blame the victim.  Women lie because of men, men lie because of women.  Whatever.  How about dealing with every one you meet as a person, and individual with their own rights, thoughts, vices, and baggage, instead of playing boys against the girls.

I've been being honest with chicks for the past couple months and I havent got any.  Soon, I will resort to lying and playing games again, because its the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Maybe that is because you are a jerk, not because you told the "truth".

This is no more true than DoctorJ's assertion that all women are psychopaths. Maybe there are some backwards old fashioned men who would look down upon a woman asking them out, but many wouldn't. It's not because men are lazy, it's because they are awkward and frightened, which is the real reason women won't ask out men as well.

You are from san francisco.  I'm from Dallas.  Things are a bit different here.  Dont judge me when you havent grown up in the materialistic, super-conservative, superficial culture I and those around me were unfortunate enough to be born into.

I'm sure your little hippie ideals work great out there on the east coast, but there are different people controlling the institutions here, and it effects everything.

I'm not saying that I want it to be this way.  I simply acknowledge that thats the way things are.  I have adapted myself to these circumstances because I do not want to be alone, and I still havent given up the insane hope that there maybe someone here on my level (not that I'm saying anyone else is on a higher or lower level than me, we're just all different  )

I hope to move to a place where the general population is more in tune with the way I'm livin.  But right now, for purposes of finance and education, right here is where I have to be.  You have no idea the shit I have to put up with.  Wanna come move to the City of Hate and try to get along with these Paris Hilton bitches?  Plano is like a republican Beverly Hills.  You remember Plano from the all the stupid rich kids that died takin heroin out there a while back, right?

Some of your responses to my post were highly amusing.  You've pinned a lot of preconcieved notions on me which have no basis in reality, so I feel I must defend myself.  If you continue to assume things about people on this board that are not true, you will be corrected in this manner quite a bit.

Quote:
Dude you are hanging out in the wrong places, get over yourself.

Well, I already explained how i think the general socio-cultural climate of where I live fucks a lot of shit up, but I should also mentioned that I have met women in all kinds of places.  I have dated women from all walks of life.  In voicing my frustrations, I have incurred many a response from people that maybe my judgement was shitty, so thats why I went on lots of blind dates arranged through friends and relatives.  No luck :frown:  I see lots of negative qualities that most women have in common (at least in the context of the society in which I live).

Quote:
That's because women who ask men out are looked down upon. You would (even though you are going to say "no I wouldn't") look down upon a woman who asked you out. Every man I have known eventually admits to this. They only want a woman to ask them out because they are lazy.

I might look down on a chick for asking me out, but not strictly because she asked me out.  It would have to be in combination with some other quality, like sluttiness, superficiality, or if I just found her unattracive.  If a girl I really liked asked me out before I got the chance to, it would earn her a lot of points with me

No, I'm not lazy, I just like to know that someone cares about me, the same way you probably do.  I also thing that the archetypical "man as the pursuer" thing is obsolete now that women are finally beginning to become social equals.  Women go on and on about how important romance is to them.  Well, its important to men too.

Quote:
Yes it is, and on top of that women are now expected to work outside the home to earn a paycheck, and then come home to their second, unpaid, not appreciated job of caring for your lazy ass, and raising your kids.

What?  I dont know where any of this came from.  I am not lazy.  I take care of myself, and it would nice to be in a relationship with someone who did the same.  Thats all I'm asking.  Furthermore, I do not intend on having kids.  I know very few men that do.  Women have maternal instincts; they want kids.  Many mothers also have massive inferiority complexes and feel they must work even though theyve already had kids.  I have a mother that did this, and it was in no way expected of her.  She did it to herself.  I'm not saying thats the way it is all the time, I'm just saying that the situation you described was by no means an accurate generalization.

Quote:
Sure, blame the victim. Women lie because of men, men lie because of women. Whatever. How about dealing with every one you meet as a person, and individual with their own rights, thoughts, vices, and baggage, instead of playing boys against the girls.

I would love to do just that.  Problem is, those are lofty ideals that dont pan out in reality.  I'm not pandering to you right now.  I'm not trying to get you in the sack.  I'm being totally honest about my feelings (which most of the men on here dont have the balls to do in front of a woman).  How much do you like me?  You've already written me off as an asshole.

Quote:
Maybe that is because you are a jerk

do you know me?  have you ever smoked a bowl with me?  You've judged me so quickly just for voicing a little frustration which is totally normal.  You're reaction has proved my original  point completely.  thank you.

"99% of the women I've encountered couldnt handle an honest relationship without freaking out or being irrational."

This is not exclusive to women. Sure, you might say you've never seen a man act this way, but that's you've never dated any men. Plus, people tend to ignore their own imperfections and exagerrate those of others.

There's a guy from my high school, for instance, who is now permenantly brain damaged because some other guy saw him talking to his girlfriend. He had his head repeatedly stomped on... this wasn't even right after, the guy tracked him down the next day. Men have jealous freakouts all the time. Sometimes they'll break off relationships out of fear, and they'll often cheat.

Women and men cheat at pretty much the same rate. It's not that women are a bunch of fucked up insecure liars, it's that PEOPLE are a bunch of fucked up insecure liars.

very true. But I have never cheated or engaged in violence or stupid drama over a woman, and I expect a partner of equal fortitude.

Problem is, most of my equals wouldnt have me, because most women want to be romanticly involved with a person who is better than them. Marriage has existed as a means of social climbing for quite some time and it is difficult to change that institution. Of course, that is just a personal observation, and it might have low relevance in general.

read your post.. each reply made me think about my own relations..

it's getting rather pitiful I suppose ( it doesn't bother me anymore ), but I haven't been on a date. I sort of asked once or twice, but never any luck. If a girl were to ask me out, i would RESPECT her a hell of a lot for being able to break through my fairly antisocial shell..

for the record, I try not to lie and generally don't hide my emotions ( sometimes it's inevitable.. ), and it hasn't gotten me into any relationship. I do talk, but people rarely want to listen. I must either carry and awful aura about me, or maybe I'm ugly. but that one doesn't make too much sense because "ugly people" get significant others just the same.

oh well. i'm alive, i'm human, i have an awareness of reality ( usually ), i try to do new things.. Am i product of the male-driven society? Maybe. They say theres an exception to every rule, but would the exception exist without the rule?

i suppose i understand why some conservative people get weird about it, but i'm pretty comfortable with myself sexually.

Your body doesn't store semen... Your body constantly creates new sperm to replace old sperm, and it becomes semen after it exits the testicles and mixes with the other fluids on its way out. What you ejaculate is like a cocktail of different fluids + sperm, your body doesnt create the entire mixture and store it for long periods of time.

If all men stopped drooling on them every time they walked by and made them all feel sort of unwanted, the polarity would reverse and the tables would turn in our favor.

Women everywhere would be be falling all over us, now that would be nice.

Its a viscious fuckin cycle that that we all must take responsibility for as individuals.

just my .02

Women don't want me unless I pretend to be disinterested. It sure makes things interesting.

I hate to let you guys down but there are some women who do not masturbate. It isn't necessarily a lie. I didn't up until a year ago and I'm 28.

I masturbate daily.... at least   - that may be because I'm a little under-sexed atm :frown:, though I know I'd masturbate regardless...

I don't reach orgasm through intercourse which is the same for a lot of women , so knowing exactly what gets me off is pretty important.  I fantasise while masturbating and depending how into the fantasy I am, will determine just how far I'll get before I get that feeling like my body is going to explode :grin::grin:

Some women are all about toys, but for me personally, no toy will ever come close to knowing my body like my magic fingers ... I'm also all for masturbating with your partner or masturbating during sex... I want to be able to reach orgasm when he does too

I think I already posted in this massive thread, but yes, I masturbate. I started when I was in 4th grade, and would simply do it everywhere, including church where I got caught. My parents caught me once too.

I masturbated a lot more when I was younger. These days it's just like a bored reflex. I don't have sex so sometimes I get really horny and need to take some time alone.

Yes, I'm legally married, but we're not in a romantic relationship anymore.

Because I'm legally married though, does that make me "off limits" sexually to a lot of people? Or do most people (guys and girls) not care about that type of stuff?

Sometimes I want to get fucked.

To me it depends on whether the other person knows or cares that they're screwing around. I hate doing shit like that behind someone's back, but at the same time, there's no way I'm going to let them watch either.

Unless of course it's a lesbian couple.  :naughty:

Yeah, my husband and I are both avid on dating other people. I'm not sure I want a relationship per say since I just got out of a long one, but I DO want to play around and have a good time. Preferably with a girly! (I'm gayish)

There's a girl I go to school with who's married and has a kid, but she keeps telling me how much she hates her husband. I'm not sure if she's hinting at something, or just looking for sympathy. It's a sketchy situation. We keep winding up on the same team for projects, and it's her that seems to be facilitating this.

Also, her husband seems to be the jealous controlling type. Not an open relationship at all it would seem.

I think men would respect women a lot more if they told the truth more and weren't as manipulative

Wow. This is a really old post but christ doctor J you nailed it on the fucking head.
At least that sums up most of my experience with women. Except I've only dated a few chicks and then had one reeeeally long relationship with a woman that supposedly loved me to the ends of the Earth and for eternity. Except when I was completely honest, then she stopped loving me, after 8 years.

It was probably never meant to be anyway, since we started dating when we were young and the relationship started with a string of lies (from her end). I was 17, and she said she was 19 (and she looked it and was really mature.. so I believed.).. I later found out (three months after we had been dating..) that she was actually 15. Which wasn't a ~huge~ deal, the age difference.. but the fact that she lied about it so easily and I believed it and had to find out on my own really threw me off. But she apologized and I'm not one to hold a grudge especially against a hot chick that likes to give me massages and sexy time, so forgot about it and we continued our relationship.

She said she only wanted honesty but I quickly found out that was not the case. Whenever I was completely honest about my feelings I became the bad guy, and an asshole. She only wanted honesty when it benefited her. She expected me to talk to and treat her like a queen all the time. She said she was a goddess. Of course you should treat the person you love with the utmost respect and compassion.. but relationships have their ups and downs and not being honest about your feelings for fear of retaliation sucks, and is not conducive to a healthy and complete relationship.

I was not the perfect boyfriend by any stretch of the imagination.. at the time I suffered from some pretty severe depression and was struggling with my own trust issues from childhood (and her lying to me).. and I'm sure that effected our relationship. But I did my best and treated her as good as I knew how.. but that relationship was one hell of a rollercoaster. When it was good.. it was REALLY good.. but when it was bad.. shit was falling from the sky in the pits of hell.

But I became conditioned to it all, and I learned that lying was what she really wanted. She wanted honesty only when it was me saying "You are the most beautiful person on Earth and also so very smart and wise".. but not when it was me saying I had a problem with something she was doing or how the way she was acting was bothering me.. that was always a 'fatal insult' and strictly forbidden. Even though she was free to criticize me all the time (and did quite liberally), and I always took what she said to heart.. but it did not work both ways. When I was honest all the time, I did not get any. But when I lied and masked my true feelings, I got it all the time. So you can guess which path I took in that relationship.

Well I could probably write 10 pages on this but I'll finish. Basically I just had enough of the mind games and manipulation, and just started being honest.. all the time.. good and bad. This was not good for our relationship. She would become extremely volatile and irrational.. the temper on this woman.. good god. And I am pretty damn stubborn myself...I am not one to submit my will and become whipped.. so it ended catastrophically.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that a lot of woman have been conditioned to think a certain way. (I'm not saying this isn't true for men too.. I'm just saying from my perspective..) They want these fairy tale relationships 24/7, but that's just not reality. If you say you're a goddess and expect to be treated like one and showered with praise and affection all the time, that's fine.. if you act like a goddess all the time. But don't expect me to treat you like a goddess when you act like a royal cunt, I'm gonna say how that makes me feel, goddamnit. But I was blinded by the regular sex. Now I am liberated. I don't have sex three times a day anymore, but fuck it.. I don't play mind games with myself either.. my hand doesn't expect me to worship it... and it's almost as good.. also a LOT less expensive then a girlfriend. So there's pros and cons.
Sex is good but it's not worth compromising your values and degrading yourself for it.

It seems that's a lot of people's experience.. my best friend had an eerily similar long term relationship.. with a completely different chick. I'd like to think he's not a complete asshole either, he's actually a really nice guy. I don't think I am..... but apparently I am.

If you do end up messing around with a girl, take pictures. Then, buy a spatula. Leave both the pictures and the spatula on your husbands pillow.
