Driving High

Be honest here how many of shroomeries stoners have driven high? I have a problem with it but its not bad my friends are freaking me out because we always get baked and drive places. I would rather walk or do something before driving (we do it mostly after just smoking). The weird part is when my friend picks me up im not sketched if im sober but when im high it becomes a big deal. Idk do you guys have an issue with stoned drivers? We have yet to get pulled over or crashed. Should I be so worried about it? My friend just doesn't like to be in public when he is baked because he thinks someone will call the cops on him. I tried to tell him nobody will care unless you drive then its a big deal. For some reason he thinks driving is less sketchy than walking around. Idk what do you guys think?

On cannabis I see no problem. I did almost crash my car after smoking oil for the first time in hella long so I guess you just need to use your judgement and think about how high you are. If you don't have to drive just don't

This has come up frequently and I'm in the minority on it.
I think driving intoxicated is stupid and reckless. "It makes me a better driver because I'm more careful and relaxed". Bullshit. Total bullshit. Even driving sober sometimes you can't react fast enough to a situation to avoid it, anything that impairs your reaction time is only going to make that fact worse. Rather than swerving 10 feet from that bicyclist and just barely missing him, now you're doing it in 5 and hitting him.
Drunks say the same stupid shit. "No man, I can drive honestly, being drunk makes me a better driver". Have you ever honestly been a passenger in a car with a drunk driver while you were sober and seen a marked improvement in their capabilities?
You drive like shit, you're just too high or drunk to notice it. You only think you drive better. To the outside observer, you're not even close.
Now throw on all the anecdotes of the sober people who have ridden with you and remarked on how good of a driver you are (this goes for anyone who replies to this thread not just not OP). I say it's fucking bullshit, come prove it. I will sit there and take notes and tell you the 20 different ways you managed to fuck up in just 5 minutes of driving.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline

I think you can drive while a little stony, but for the most part you shouldn't. There's definitely a lot of judgement required, and if you are fucking baked you should not drive. There was about a month of my life where I made the repeated mistake of doing a half hour drive home stoned out of my mind.. and it was scary! Slow curves of the freeway would seemingly come out of nowhere and I would catch myself swerving to stay in my lane. Thankfully these excursions were always at night with just myself at risk, but still.. it's not a good idea.
It does not, by any means, improve your driving. Unless you're a lead-pedal driver full of road rage and like to start fights with strangers.. then maybe you should calm down a little before driving. Better yet maybe you should walk instead.

In my weed smoking prime I drove baked every time. And there where countless times of me smoking spliffs while driving too. For me I found it didn't effect my focus much, perhaps partly due to the fact that I knew I was high and because of that needed to be extra careful and stay extra focused. I'm not going to try to say it didn't effect my judgment/motor skills but I always noticed that the mindset made me more cautious. Being a little older looking back I don't regret doing it but I don't advocate it either. Nobody should be driving intoxicated and especially when really sleepy. Being very sleepy is the most dangerous I think.
My advice is be smart, sometimes things happen spontaneously and you may have to drive. Otherwise think ahead if you know you will be driving soon and don't get baked just hold off for a better time to smoke. As long as you arent carrying your weed on you walking is much better. I think your friend is just being classic paranoid. Nobody can prove anything or will waste their time try to get you for being high, unless your being an idiot. Ive been in the presence of countless cops stoned out of my head and never had a problem even when they and me both knew how baked I was. Just dont keep weed on you.

When I was a hardcore stoner I was a good driver. Once I took a tolerance break it became harder. First time I dabbed was dangerous, for sure.

Thank god I lived 3 minutes away. I was a zombie. Plopped onto bed, woke up 10 hours later...still high.
Before that I had smoked 5 times a day and drove just fine. Idk how I lost those skills.

I have yet to find anyone who can tell the difference between indica and sativa in a blind taste test. The completely untested and unproven hippie propaganda here is super strong so i wont try to convince you but you should try the blind test sometime. When you aren't driving of course.

I wouldn't consider driving under the influence of anything like cannabis or alcohol and it's beyond me why some people appear to do this. I wouldn't recommend it, that's for sure.

Driving under the influence of alcohol is completely different than driving under the influence of cannabis products
That said I wouldn't recommend doing either of them myself, save that shit for when you're off the road

Yeah, my point wasn't that the two are comparable, but that I wouldn't consider driving under the influence of either - or a hist of other substances for that matter.

I wrote off my first car because I was high, too busy looking out the window and took the turn around the round about (circle for US) too late.. fucked drive shafts and everything just from the front wheel hitting the gutter too hard LOL.
Have driven countless times high on most drugs.. pretty bad decision if you ask me. Yet in the 9 years I've been driving I have never had another accident aside from the first, which was in my year of smoking lol. Never been caught with drugs or drug/alcohol driving.
Count myself pretty lucky on that accord. Have been basically drug free for 2 months except for holiday play up in US. I won't be over the 0.05 BAC reading we have in AUS whenever I drive.
Adult life. Choices gotta be smarter, gotta look out for your future, especially if you have kids.. who is gonna take them to school? How's it gonna look when they're stitched up in hospital because of your mistake to get behind the wheel? Or one of your family or friends for that matter. It's a serious price to pay for the stupid decision. I got lucky and was neve put in any such scenario yet again.
From a some-what reformed drug addict.. this mind sound a bit how's it going.. but life is real.. people are real, these things happen, kids, family, friends and innocent bystanders DIE from shit like this.. ITS REAL YOU KNOW. "I'll be right" Sure ya will.. when you get out of the hospital from crashing your car into a tree/poll.. YA BLOODY IDIOT!
End of my essay.. I do not drive under the influence anymore, have had luck in the past with horrible decisions. I do not condone it at all or recommend it to anybody.. no matter how much "BETTER" you think you drive on drugs... YOU DON'T!!

I DEFINITELY drive better on low dose stimulants like 4fa, amphetamine, and caffeine. A bit ov cannabis does'nt hurt me. Everything else i find to impair, but i'm quite guilty ov driving under the influence countless times. I'm tamer now, but still imbibe before driving from time to time.

Bullshit. Different strains do different things
I've had super heavy medical indicas where I was totally fucked and stuck on my couch, and they gave me a hangover type thing the next day where my energy was totally drained
Then I smoked some sativa and the difference was night and day. I felt beautiful and amazing and everything felt like sex if i touched it. Amazing sleep. No paranoia
If you don't think there's any difference in strains then you are an idiot. There are thousands of different effects from marijuana.
Why do you think they have a cannabis cups, thousands of different strains, etc? Cuz they all do different stuff

I can drive fine on weed as long as I'm not SUPER baked. I have a more difficult time driving fast while high. I tend to drive slower and more carefully.
