Best Posts can be like
but when it is getting overrun with +1 Spam, it is like

Just because I bothered to make a thread doesn't mean I am bothered. If it is really that fun for people, I will let it go.

bump
The 'Best Posts' list is still being trashed and flooded by threads like 'BUMP THIS THREAD EVERY TIME YOU SEE IT', and 'How many +1's do you have?'
It's fine that people want to boost their score in threads like that, but when it spills over and degrades other features of the site, something needs to change.
Site Admins / Moderators - can there be an exception added into the coding for these threads?

Yeah, that's actually a decent idea.
I like upvoting a lot in the "How many +1's do you have?" thread, but it does flood the best posts page.
At the same time though, it isn't like the best posts page is flooded with informative and helpful posts though, and you can just skip over them, so it's really not a big deal.

i don't often see informative or helpful posts there, mostly funny responses and posts from members which is why i go there.
Like i said, i'm not against your threads or what all goes on in there, just would like things to go back to normal.

yeah well i'll just make a subforum where everyday I make a new thread that links a random pub thread where the +1 circle jerk will take place to circumvent this.
the circle jerk will always own the best posts page no matter what. deal with it.

I'm sure the entire subforum can be excluded as well. why have you declared war on the best posts list any way? why's it such a big deal for you to have all your shitposts framed up on the wall?
anyway, no mod or admin has yet to comment on this - any thoughts from you folks? the issue is super old, i figured you guys would have at least commented or something by now.

This is definitely an issue, but I think the real problem is that the post ranking functionality is not fully implemented yet. Because it's incomplete, people don't use it for its intended purpose. I really need to do some more work on it. Once we offer a way to subscribe to user-created forums and filter posts, this should be much less of a concern. Also, as we add new functionality around the +1 feature, I hope it will come into wider use beyond people just bumping threads for fun, and will come to more accurately reflect the quality of posts. I'll see if I can come up with an easy short-term solution but it might make sense to just wait and fix it properly. I suspect that we could improve engagement with the +1 button by simply making it bigger and more prominent, but I don't want to make the page all ugly and I know some people are averse to new "social media"-like features. I'll try and improve this functionality, though! I think it has a lot of potential.

Could it work like, you only see Best Posts from the forums/threads that you haven't hidden?

That's why we just post a link to a random thread in a main forum to take over and circle jerk in. Best posts is our turf and we will fight to the permaban to keep it homie.
